Fury needs a doctor....a good one. He said Ali today would be a nobody.

Fury's mental illness really dominates what comes out of his mouth.

OK f..k this dude for disrespecting the HW goat like that

He only wishes he had an ounce of Alis courage to fight anyone

I now want usyk to win even if it means people call him goat

In comparison, Usyk on a recent video said Ali would beat him. Whether he believed it or not, he had the good grace to show respect

    Actually it is wrong.

Its like saying Michael Jordan couldn't compete in the NBA today because he started in 1984.

There is a giant difference between 1910 and 1960. In 1910, gloved boxing had only been around for 2 decades and techniques were still developing.

By the 1930's and 40's, techniques had developed about as much as they were going to. We are talking 50 years of evolution.

The idea that techniques evolve endlessly and athletes get better every decade is comical. There is a limit to evolution in any sport.

The main thing that has changed since Ali's days is there are more good southpaws since left handers in Ali's era were discouraged from boxing left handed - see Cooper and in later eras, Cooney and Ruddock.

Fury has never been in with a fighter who is even 75% as fast as the 25 year old Ali. True Ali didn't throw body shots. But his feet are faster than anything Fury has ever seen, his combinations are quicker than what Fury could deal with, and Ali could outwork him quite comfortably, especially in a 12 rounder.

30's & 40's techniques developed as much as they could?

    Rubbish.

Not sure where it came from, but the text does refer to Fury as 'heavyweight champion of the world.' Not sure if this is old - or an error?
Anyway, if true, even if you thought it why would you say it??! It's obviously gonna hack off vast swathes of fans and turn them against you.

Pretty much. Feinting, body punching, combination punching (see Joe Louis), movement, using a high guard.

We are talking about 50 years of evolution and development. 50 years. That is a loooong time.

There are a lot more southpaws in the modern era, no doubt. In the old days, managers were reluctant for their guys to fight southpaws so a lot of natural lefties fought orthodox- Henry Cooper, Sonny Liston (allegedly), Gerry Cooney and Razor Ruddock. If you want to argue that southpaw techniques have evolved more recently, i would be inclined to agree. But Fury, despite occasionally switch hitting, isn't a southpaw.

True. But what he says improve Usyk's one who in this way gets maximum output with minimum effort.

Does Fury even think before he speaks, even if he genuinely believes Ali wouldn’t be competitive in this era you still have to have the class and grace to acknowledge his greatness and what he did for all boxers bringing worldwide attention the sport, record purses and showing that boxers are not just grunts but can have personality and intelligence

    Ali>Fury

While Ali was unjustifiably banned for 3 years for standing up to the US government Fury just went on a self inflicted 3 year coke and food binge then blamed his mental health

People asking him to step down because he has an opinion they don’t agree with hahahaha. Says it all about this clown world we live in.

Also find it hilarious how so many people whose parents weren’t even born when Ali was fighting are so quick to defend him all the time. Group think mentality.

“"Nowadays, with advances in training and nutrition, a boxer like him wouldn't be so dominant."

Nutrition? Fury said that? I mean, as good as he can be, nutrition certainly ain’t playing a role in it…..

    What’s the source, anyway?

Not that I put it past Fury to say such a thing, but I would like to see the source..
