Well he beat a ton of good fighters even after jail. When you have a cast iron chin (and body) you can get away with taking some.

Ali was not some old, outdated fighter with no skill. He is one of the most talented fighters ever. 60's Ali was a very special fighter.

 

Same height and reach as the guy who just beat his ass.
