I was under the impression that Ike Quartey was inducted into the IBHOF and museum a few years back. Yup, I just checked and according to Google Ike was inducted in 2020.
To be fair there are different outlets saying different things on google and Im not vouching for if Ike is or is not in the IBHOF. Ill take your word for it. Now if your making the argument of who is more deserving for the nickname Bazooka then In my opinion its a 3 way tie in between Rafael Limon, Quartey and Gomez.
I trust the IBHOF's website in this matter. Quartey should arguably be in but his problematic persona, when he was even hated in Ghana where his country folk celebrated him losing to De La Hoya, maybe caused him yo burn a few bridges in that respect.
Ill tell you something: in a sport like boxing where boxers die of punches sometimes, I hate nicknames like assassin, killer or el matador. I consider them in bad taste and if I was a boxer, Id ask for my nickname not to have those words.
