Pernell Whitaker was an assault to the eyes. A clown not a fighter. It was great to see Ramirez burst his balloon.

Paulie Malignaggi- He wasn't very good or fast he was flashy and tougher than he looked but he was a very unexciting fighter no power, little talent

Gene Fullmer is king… Ricky Hatton could be very ugly at times, Fenech similar reasons to Hatton… much as people talk up Sanchez as a “super” fighter who was technically “a wizard” he had a stringy, ugly way of fighting but he was very good and I learn a lot watching him.

"John Ruiz" would be the #1 answer if this was Family Feud.

Whitaker fights were awful to watch because I already knew the outcome would be "opponent cannot hit Pernell".

He wouldn't probably make the Family Feud board even at the bottom, but anyone who manages to find a reason to mention "Eddie Gazo" gets an upvote for me.

Chuck Davey, the welterweight from Michigan who made you want to kick sand in his face, tops my list of unwatchable boxers. Some of his best wins -- particularly over Carmen Basilio and Rocky Graziano -- look fishy to me. Ike Williams asserted his loss to Davey was a fixed match. It fell to Kid Gavilan to permanently fix Chuck's wagon. That was a glorious arse-whipping.

Nice shout. Worst world champion I’ve ever seen. Basically a journeyman club fighter and not a terribly good one.

I actually liked Franco Rosi … he had some craft to his game with the 1-2-fall-in-with-the-shoulder-and-maul. If you weren’t good enough to avoid fighting his fight, he could turn it into just the kind of ugly schmoz that he’d win and leave the other guy scratching his head or whining about it. I respect a guy of limited ability who can figure out a way to compete at higher levels due to turning it into his kind of fight.

Monzon, for all his accomplishments, is the king here for me: I’ve watched plenty of him for the same reasons I take out the garbage, vacuum and dust … because I have to and need to, but never because I want to. What a bore.
