I know Floyd Mayweather isn't popular with a lot of folks on this forum but there is no denying the level of competition he faced.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. beat 15 major world champions during his professional boxing car
World title fights: 26 consecutive wins, 10 by knockou
Lineal title fights: 23 wins, 9 by knockou
Former or current world titlists: 24 wins, 7 by knockou
Former or current lineal champions: 12 wins, 3 by knockou
International Boxing Hall of Fame inductees: 5 wins, 1 by knockout

Great points, Awarded! It is just that people are bothered by the stage at their careers when he fought them, and at what weights. But everything you wrote is true!!

I heard that argument about him facing guys when they were on their downside of their careers but would counter that with the following facts.

Diego Corrales, Ricky Hatton and Canelo Alvarez were all undefeated killers when he fought them. Manny, Marquez, Cotto were either P4P number ones or number two when he fought them. Oscar had been at 154 for years and had a significant size advantage over Floyd who walked around at 147. Guys that gave him problems like Castillo and Maidana, he have immediate rematches and beat them cleanly.

For all the Money Mayweather BS and things about his personality that rubbed folks wrong (myself included), he was the real deal and a true champion.

At a slight tangent, Peter Buckley fought (and lost to) 20 one-time world champions and seventy holders of various belts.

Not that it matters but how many did he beat? I know he defeated Langford and Dempsey and was creamed in the rematch.

    Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

I'm going to throw in my honorable mention, the great Dave Jaco. He beat only one of these fighters with the help of an asthma induced stoppage:

    Razor Ruddock
    Pierre Coetzer
    Tony Tucker
    Mike Tyson
    Buster Douglas
    Johnny DuPlooy
    Mike Weaver
    Oliver McCall
    Gary Mason
    George Foreman
    Alex Stewart

I've got time to expand. Moore is pretty insane. I've no doubt left some contenders off and have some of the quantities wrong but the list should give a quick glimpse into his handwork.

    Archie Moore

    Ezzard Charles x 3
    Teddy Yarosz
    Eddie Booker x 3
    Jack Chase x 6
    Henry Hall
    Alabama Kid x 2
    Clarence Henry
    Charley Burley
    Lloyd Marshall x 2
    Jimmy Bivins x 5
    Cocoa Kid
    Holman Williams x 2
    Curtis Sheppard x 2
    Oakland Billy Smith x 2
    Bert Lytell x 2
    Charley Doc Williams x 2
    Harold Johnson x 5
    Joey Maxim x 3
    Nino Valdes x 2
    Bobo Olsen
    Rocky Marciano
    Bob Baker
    Alejandro Lavorante
    Floyd Patterson
    Yvonne Durelle x 2
    Willie Pastrano
    Muhammad Ali

Here's a list someone compiled in here a while back. He claims Moore fought 98 contenders and went 73-19-5.
