Maybe, but Karen was able to land in the first round. Ryan is faster and hits harder than Karen. If Ryan catches Boots in the first round with that left hook as well, he definitely can hurt him.

I wouldn't have given Garcia anything more than a puncher's chance against Smokey Boots prior to tonight

Partly because he's not proven at or above 140 against anyone other than Haney who isn't a puncher, and partly because Boots has the better skills and his power is proven at 147.

However, Garcia's left hook is lightning quick and deadly and Smokey Boots is easy to hit. I still favour Smokey via KO but I give Garcia a much better chance now

You might be right, but one thing's for sure. Ryan is quick, has a puncher's and his fights are exciting!

Just watched it and I can´t believe that Chukhadzhian did so well. Most certainly got robbed and that 119-107 card should be a federal crime.
Thank god that I did not stay up to watch this, I would have been so pissed off again.

Was watching but not scoring closely as was watching with a bunch of friends. It appeared Boots got lit up quite a bit but I thought he deserved the decision (a very close one) with that point deduction and a knockdown. Always was going to be an uphill battle for the Ukrainian in Philly

On another note when they announced Dock as the ref I verbally said "oh **** here we go again"

It reminds me rematch of Hunter vs Forrest, when Hunter won every round on all cards in the 1st fight but struggled badly to not get loss in the rematch.

"These fights" as in the 2 Karen fights?..........

I hope you aren't talking about the fighters on his resume beyond his most recent few opponents. Check out his first 25 fights......it's featuring all stars like Lionel Jimenez (5-33-1), Tavarous Teague (6-34-5), Gustavo Garibay (19-17-), Eduardo Flores (26-36-4), Wilfredo Acuna (16-22), and others of the same caliber.

I just want to make sure we aren't moving the goal post. I brought up the fact that Crawford in the last decade, since winning his first world title off Ricky Burns, his opponents have a combined record of 499-34-8. A couple people danced around that stat as if it meant nothing. Meanwhile fighters like Jaron Ennis get a pass on the level of competition and his performance against them.

Boots actually has a much stronger resume right now than Crawford did at 27.
Edit: He technically has the stronger resume, but IMO Chukwhateverhisnameisspeltlike got robbed last night.

I'm finally watching it and it's annoying that they keep going to the KC corner between rounds but don't have a translator like what's the point

in the fifth round and Ennis is getting tattoo'd in there at times. Wondering if Boot's last fight where he looked vulnerable showed some holes for KC's team to exploit.

Sean Strickland's Ukrainian doppelganger looking good so far

Ennis is overrated don't get me wrong i like him as a fighter and i was quite high on him at first, but then i started to watch more of his fights and i was alarmed how much he gets hit and admires his work. He's far too hittable to me and i've always thought once he meets a genuine world class fighter his own size you will really start to see his flaws.
