The judges had it very wide so maybe i haven't got a clue what i'm talking about, but i thought Karen landed all the eye catching punches and rocked Ennis numerous times throughout the fight i thought he won it handily IMO.

    1 Karen
    2 Karen
    3 Karen
    4 Karen
    5 Ennis 10-8 Knockdown
    6 Ennis
    7 Ennis
    8 Karen
    9 Karen
    10 Ennis 10-8 point deduction
    11 Karen
    12 Karen

    114-112 Karen

The reffing was a bit iffy ngl they deduct a point for excessive holding but allowed Haney to clinch and do nothing.

At the very least Karen was trying to angle and get position most of the time and not just hugging to stay safe.

I turned it off, but I had Ennis running away with it after the knockdown. Karen had won like two rounds until that point.

Yes, Karen didn't outland Ennis in 4 of the first 5 rounds. You're giving Karen every close round. Compubox got the general theme of the fight correct

So what ? Compubox doesn't tell the whole story look at who was landing the clean effective punches that were rocking the other fighter.

According to compubox Ennis out landed Karen 13-4 in round 2 yet everyone scored the round for Karen including Chris Mannix who was heavily in favour of Ennis.

The 1st round was close but I gave it to Karen because he badly rocked Ennis in the middle part of the round.

I don't really see many other rounds I scored for Karen being that debatable to be quite honest.

Rewatch ? Boots is getting 0 credit for every landed combination and jab in the early rounds. Those rounds were pretty close and Boots blocked some shots in the 2nd, he definitely didn't outland Ennis in the 1st, or the 3rd and I had it 2-2 going into the 5th. You could be confusing round 2 with round 4. I didn't give Karen the 8th. Ennis knocked him down. Karen was deducted a point. It was close, I've been saying Karen is way better than everyone here thinks. But a gift is an exaggeration. Bad scorecards tho

Jaron Ennis vs Karen Chukhadzhian II
    Round 1: 10:9*
    Round 2: 9:10
    Round 3: 10:9*
    Round 4: 9:10
    Round 5: 10:8 (Karen down)
    Round 6: 9:10*
    Round 7: 9:10
    Round 8: 10:9*
    Round 9: 9:10*
    Round 10: 10:8 (Karen loses a point)
    Round 11: 9:10
    Round 12: 9:10
    Final Score: 113:113 Draw

I have no issues with Ennis win - if judges favor the aggressor and heavier hitter (Like Beterbiev against Bivol), but those scorecards were disgusting. There was bunch of rounds were Chukhadzhian picked Ennis apart with clean counters and Ennis was not able to get through with anything clean. Lazy scoring, just giving it to stronger guy because He looks confident and "fly".
I wrote it in other thread as well - but it's interesting that Karen does not believe He did any good.

The 1st round was close as I said but Karen rocked Ennis in the middle part of the round and finished the round strong that was enough to sway it for me.

The 2nd round I thought Karen backed up Ennis and did a good job.

I'm a guy that likes eye catching punches and for me Karen was landing the eye catching punches that were visibly stunning Ennis.

Ennis had the big 5th round but couldn't capitalize on it and I thought Karen finished the fight very strongly and edged it for me.

Without the point deduction I would find it hard to have Ennis winning this fight honestly.

It was an off balance shot to me like what Ennis did to Avanesyan in their first round, Ennis was right back on the front foot throwing punches. If the fighter isn't visibly hurt I perfer to score the more punches landed since both threw very effective punches. Karen did get rocked plenty.

To claim the title of a champion, one has to prove he's absolutely better than him.

You can't get a champion's title with very close rounds, you have to persuade the judges.

I didn't get to watch the fight but the high majority of the round by round thread scorers agree with the OP.

I know very little about Karen I've been following Ennis for a few years I like him but recognise he has some glaring flaws like his defense.

I just thought Karen landed the better cleaner eye catching punches.

You gave Karen 7 rounds. One of the judges only gave him 1. Dude got robbed.

Boots landed more punches in most rounds, landed harder punches, and benefited from a knockdown and point deduction. There are zero examples of champions losing titles with all of those events in their favor.

Even if you think Ennis won the fight you have to admit the judges scorecards were absolutely disgraceful and I think that's where most of the anger comes from.

If Ennis had won a close decision even if I disagreed with it I could accept it but the fact you have one judge only giving Karen 1 round ? Is disgraceful.
