Gerald McClellan vs Arthur Beterbiev would be one of the coolest, if not the coolest fights of all time in my opinion. Please each of you express your opinion. I'm a huge Arthur fan but Gerald McLellan is one of the best for me along with Mike Tyson, Ray Robinson and Rocky Marciano.

What a great fight this would be.

G-Man was awesome. But unfortunately he did lose to Benn which shows somewhat of a ceiling to his abilities.

That was after he was already brain damaged from the Jackson fights. He lost nearly every round to Benn, he only won the rounds he dropped him in. He was about 5% of himself that night. He would usually run through Benn.

He took bombs from Jackson in their first fight and didn't get KO'd. I don't think anyone is going to KO that version of McClellan. Never saw him at 175 though and Beterbiev has the strength advantage but Beterbiev doesn't punch harder than 160 pound Jackson so he isn't KO'ing McClellan on that night and McClellan has huge firepower that will be coming at Beterbiev.

People really underrate McClellan. On that night of the first Jackson fight he sustained severe brain damage but that was the night of him at his prime and he was able to take bombs from Jackson and he bombed Jackson out with an incredibly accurate combo. So it's hard to see him being KO'd by anyone at 160-168 and probably 175 since he walked through flush bombs from Jackson that night. It's going to take huge punches to KO him. Even when he was brain damaged and taking flush punches from Benn all night he still lasted until his brain was probably heavily bleeding and he took the knee because he knew something wasn't right. He was never flat out KO'd even with that situation and Benn having target practise.

Its still hard to pick him jumping up to 175 but he is taller than Beterbiev and his power would hold up. Most people think Beterbiev lost to Bivol and hes been hurt and struggled in some fights e.g Callum Johnson, Yarde, who McClellan would probably do a better job on. Need to see McClellan at 175 first but he's better than Yarde.

McClellan was a serious fighter before the brain damage. He was running the Kronk gym until he fell out with Manny.

The problem is if those punches from Jackson are enough to punch the prime right out of him, it's hard picking him in any fantasy fight.

McClellan would look small even at 168lbs.

He was a lean and wiry fighter with excellent genetics for his weight class. If he moved up his lack of size would show.

He would be competitive against lower Top 10 fighters but the elite would beat him.

Also he lost to nobodies like Ralf Ward and Dennis Milton....

Those fights don't mean anything as they're only over 6 and 8 rounds

Too big an ask imo, I just don't believe those early losses are in any way relevant.

    It wasnt his prime
    It was his health-brain damage.

Jackson is a monster puncher though. He is crude and it shows McClellans issues with defence. He was using offence for defence. He's got an elite right hand and left to the body which will probably KO anyone if he lands. Check out the brutal left hook body ko timestamped.
