Fenech was the smaller man moving up in weight he was a heavy underdog and gave Nelson an absolute hiding not only was he robbed of victory but also robbed of being a 4 weight world champion. If Nelson really had malaria I doubt he would've past the medical before the fight.

 

Not denying that Fenech was cheated out of being a 4 weight division champ. I don’t know how plausible the malaria excuse was from Nelson but you still have to give him props for choosing to rematch Fenech, and actually beating him convincingly in front of his hometown. Fenech had the hometown advantage but couldn’t get the job done.

Im a big fan of both by the way. Those two were great fighters in their primes.
