Obviously, Paul is a joke and should be nowhere near elite level boxing.

But Tyson is pushing 60 and a +200 underdog going in and I'm inclined to think his odds of winning are (perhaps greatly) overstated because of people betting on him due to his reputation/legend and, conversely, betting against Jake Paul due to infamy with boxing fans.

If Tyson was to beat a Jake Paul; who has ok skills, can bang a bit, and is in his physical prime, where would this win rank in Tyson's all-time best wins?

Again, this is entirely given the context of Mike being far past his best and the achievement that coming back and winning 20 years after retirement would represent.

Tysons moves have been programmed into him since he was a kid.

Jake Paul is still learning his moves.

Tyson kills Paul in quick fashion, unless Paul runs, in which case it takes Tyson some time to kill him.

Either way, Paul is about to get funked up. A professional vs an amateur.

    Kick that ass Mike!

People who are 60yo don't need to be fighting. I will not support this bout in any way.

Having said that, I'm self-interested and am loading up on Paul. He's a good buy at -200. All he has to do is survive the first 90 seconds or so and Tyson will tire out. He's an old man.

If this bout really is serious ( I'm personally thinking it's not btw), I personally think this would be one of Mike's most impressive wins considering his age, etc.

But, you can't help kinda thinking if either fighter who wins will be damned if he does or damned if he doesn't from many.

Tyson has forgotten more than Paul will ever know.

I know a guy, over 60, that would kick the sheet out of most on these forums...........

I hate even talking about this fight because it's just a joke to me but

Old farts 50+, what do YOU think. Your opinion is all that matters to me because you're old and know how old feels.

I don't think Mike's physicality is correct to win. Old legs will be hard to get close. Jake will run and jab to a points win. He'll realize early that he can jib jab win and won't go for the KO out of respect whilst Mike will just try to have some fun. Jake going to clinch like his life depends on it if old man Mike gets close to him though.

I'm 34, but I would be very surprised if Mike won. I think he has a legitimate, no BS, chance of winning in the 1st or 2nd round. But he is old, slow, and hasn't fought a real boxing match in 20 years. Jake has some skill and I think he will probably stop Mike around the 5th round.

Tyson has just about the worst possible style to be old.
Squares up often, plus old legs means easier to knock down.
Requires lots of movement and speed. Old makes you slow.
Requires lots of stamina. Old means not a lot of stamina.

Really this fight would be determined on how crap Jake Paul is. If Paul is super crap with a glass jaw, he could lose.
If Paul has decent punch resistance, he can just win on sheer youth.

I think this is my first post regarding this farce
I honestly don't care about this fight
    I don't hate it
I'm not going out of my way not to watch, I just have zero interest

I have not watched one piece of the build up or seen any interviews. The only reason I'm commenting now, is because my brother, who knows I follow the sport asked my opinion and my I told him I have none

If it's not a fix and Tyson wins by knockout? I may watch a highlight If posted

But to answer the question, a 58 year old has a much better chance In a street fight and shouldn't be boxing. Boxing is a fight, but it's also a sport with rules and a 27 year old will have way better cardio to fight than a 58 year old who has many times abused his body over the years

I don’t know man, Jake was being walked down by a vastly smaller Mike Perry who was pretty **** himself and for a few rounds Jake was cluelessly backing up. Everything you said is valid though

I am firmly in the 'this fight should not be happening ' camp. But despite myself I watched the first half of the face off episode but the hyperbole was driving me nuts, everyone talking like Tyson is 30 years old and hasnt been retired for 20 years. The point where the interviewer described it - straight faced - as the biggest event of Mike's career is when I finally switched off.
I can't speak for being a professional athlete. But I do know that, in my 40s, my body is not capable of doing what it could in my 30s, let alone my 20s. I'm not as fast, explosive or energetic. I have aches and pains I never used to. No one gets better, physically, by being retired for years and getting old. If the fight is real, I think it's possible that Tyson has enough experience to catch Paul early. But I think a much more likely scenario is he gasses and loses. And for what? A fight that did not need to take place. This is a grim move by Jake Paul. The Holyfield \ Belfort debacle keeps coming into my mind. I just hope that the event passes without anyone getting seriously hurt or embarrassed

I would not be surprised if there is a deal in place for the fight to go the distance, however once the first bell goes Paul will be trying his best to stop Tyson,Paul just has this vibe about him that this would be the type of thing he would do.Tyson coming out pulling his punches and then Paul jumping on him would not surprise me one bit,I do hope I’m wrong and Tyson can pull off the win .

I'm 67. I wish Tyson well and if this really is a real fight I would say he has a chance for the first few minutes, but I think the most likely scenario is him losing a decision or being stopped in some way. Bernard Hopkins took much better of himself and he was finally stopped at "only" 50 years old - this does not speak well for Tyson. The aging process might be conducive to wisdom and decision making but its deadly for athletics, especially contact ones. Having said all this if the old guy knocks him TFO I will be delighted!!
