Courage springs to mind for me when I think of Ezzard Charles, soaking it up against Marciano. Then Jess Willard rising again and again against the beating from Dempsey.
Jeffries has had some of the most grotesque injuries I’ve read about in a fight, yet nothing stopped him from pushing forward and still winning in the end. I’m pretty sure his eyelids were sagging over his eyes against Fitz due to the cuts, and he had some teeth lodged into his lip against Choynski. Gross ****
Kelvin Seabrooks pushing forward against Canizales (twice) was the epitome of courage to me. Anyone who got in the ring with a prime Marvin Hagler. Obelmeijas, Seales, Antuofermo, and Hamsho ought to get "Courage Wreaths of Honor" for doing it twice
Aaron Pryor didn’t lose the same energy winning or losing same with Vince Phillips in everything I’ve seen… I’d say a lot of the old timers typically were more gritty because it called for it back then so I’ll leave them out.
Absolutely! Fighting with a torn bicep, never once did quiting enter into his mind. He just keep fighting with one arm and no ****s to give.
Rocchigiani/Hill for taking on Maske in a return bout. No man should want a second helping of that brutality.
