Going to have to disagree here. Cooney actually looked very good to me tbh. This post sums it up very well

He undeniably looked far better than he did against Spinks.

Cooney himself said of the Spinks bout he was an alcoholic also dealing with separate drug addictions but was clean by the Foreman fight, which film of their respective fights support imo.

    10. Cooper
    9. Cooney
    8. Chuvalo
    7. Peralta
    6. Peralta II
    5. Briggs
    4. Lyle

    3. Norton

    2. Moorer
    1. Frazier I

1st two are among the greatest wins in heavyweight history, and 21 years apart which is absurd.

    Frazier 1
    Norton
    Moorer
    Lyle
    Peralta 2
    Peralta 1
    Frazier 2
    Chuvalo
    Stewart
    Rodriguez

Cooney is a no for me, 1 fight in four years, that fight being a loss. Meanwhile George had 19 fights or more in same time period. Impossible situation for Cooney. You don’t get off your couch and win in that situation. Still a fun fight, Cooney did come out good and win first round before an epic KO by big George

No for Quawi and Cooper too small
    No Wepner a journeyman

The thing is Cooney hadn't won a fight for almost 4 years and was coming off a loss he was atleast 8 years past his prime and was no longer a significant Heavyweight.

I don't think Cooney is that significant of a win for Foreman when you take into context all of the above. I rated in the top 10 just for the name but honestly there is an argument Cooney could be outside the top 10.

Infact Peralta 1 should probably be in my list rather than Cooney honestly.

Stewart looks closer than it was Foreman coasted off a multi knockdown round. Also it would have been a UD if not for the point deduction which cancelled out one of said knockdowns. Halfway through the fight he was up 5 points it seems.

The win is more valuable because hes a big guy who hits hard.

Say what you want about Cooneys Norton, Jimmy Young and Lyle wins they were younger than George.

Cooney hadn't won a fight in almost 4 years because he hadn't fought since Spinks. He was 33. Whether he was washed or not is unclear because he never fought again.

    Thanks for the great answers!

I am a little surprised that Qawi is making so many lists, as he is a career LHW/Cruiser, but I get it, as he gave Foreman a hell of a fight early.

I am REAL surprised at Peralta.

Cooper doesn't surprise me at all, even though it was a nothing fight, as he is a beloved guy.

    POST SCRIPT:
I think Frazier 1, Frazier II, Norton, Moorer, Lyle, Cooney, Stewart, and Chavulo are locks.

    For the last two spots...

    Cooper- 7
    Peralta 1- 5
    Peralta 2- 4
    Qawi- 4
    Wepner- 2
    Savarese- 2
    Briggs•- 1
    Denis- 1
    Rodrigues-1

So rounding out the top ten is Cooper and Peralta!

Just to clarify, you meant Peralta 1, right? Just to make sure the results above are correct.
