No it was very close I had it a 1 point fight Foreman was getting beat up in later rounds. You like to bring up the judges scorecards 2 judges had it a 1 point fight for Foreman and the other had it a draw if its a 12 round fight Foreman is in real danger of losing.

He was clearly washed up from all the substance abuse and inactivity that's plainly obvious.

Yes without deduction its 2,2 and 1. Which means without knockdowns Stewart would have only been able to get a draw in a 12 rounder. With the deduction Stewart would have won a 12 rounder if he won 11 and 12.

I'm going off the boxing rec fans which got the same score as 2 of the 3 judges. While I don't know if judges had it exactly the same boxing rec had Foreman up 5 with 5 rounds to go.

Well yes that's obvious Foreman had a big lead early on with the 2 knockdowns but Stewart comeback and made it a very close fight I don't see what the debate is TBH.

The fight was very close the judges agree fans agree.

The point was the score indicates a closer fight than what it is.

But it was an extremely competitive fight Foreman built up an early lead and then Stewart controlled the 2nd half of the fight and won atleast 5 rounds out of the scheduled 10 rounds so I don't understand what you mean by "the score indicates a closer fight than what it is"

They both landed at over 50 percent of their punches but Stewart landed 17 more punches overall and the state of Foreman’s face after and the amount of rounds Stewart won there's nothing else that can be said other than a very competitive fight.

And had the fight been 12 rounds Foreman more than likely would've lost.

    Anyway heres my list

    Frazier I
    Norton
    Frazier II
    Lyle
    Wepner
    Chuvalo
    Moorer
    Cooney
    Bert Cooper
    Roman

    Notes
The top 6 are Foremans common Ali opponents

Wepner is Listons largest KO victim and Foreman beat him quicker.

Roman is a first round KO of a very good opponent.

All due respect DP, it's not "obvious" he's washed at all. He looks excellent on film. He certainly doesn't look washed. Leaps and bounds better than the version that faced Spinks. It's clear as day. (307) George Foreman vs Gerry Cooney | BLACK HISTORY MONTH FREE FIGHT - YouTube

Swag Cooney hadn't had a notable win since 1984 over George Chaplin and had only fought 4 times in 8 years since losing to Holmes.

I think saying Cooney looked excellent is a bit of an exaggeration I mean fair play he tried and got himself in decent shape under Gil Glancy. But I don't really rate Foreman’s win over Cooney that highly quite honestly, I'd rate Foreman’s win over someone like Cooper higher as he was still a contender and went on to have very good showings vs Holyfield, Mercer, Moorer, so that win looks better with hindsight.

For mine, it's the way Foreman went about it. In terms of good wins, I do take manner of victory and context into account.

At this point and despite Foreman being the favorite going in (I think), Big George's comeback was still considered a bit of a sideshow by the pundits. The Cooney win got people's attention.

I might have Cooney a bit high in my list but after the Lyle/Chuvalo mark, it's fine lines as far as I see it.

Might as well just cut it off after 5.

One that isn't top 10 but deserves to be listed is the Kirkman win. Kirkman beat Ellis, Machen, Roman, Doug Jones, Stander and Amos Lincoln. As far as non contenders go thats a great resume and Foreman got him out in 2.

Can you believe George has twins over BOTH these monsters? That comeback Foreman had some kind of strength of schedule... swimming with sharks!

Wasn't the Grimsley (sp?) fight close as well? I can't be bothered to watch it to be honest.
