You better not let Tua hear that. Galento was an ugly Mongloid mofo, he looked like he was missing a couple chromosomes. Tua would lay you out flat for that comparision. Really you think Galento could trade with Ike for 12 rounds?
Foster way better but Galento is way bigger and tougher. I don't often pick 2 ton but I think he grinds and fouls his way to a win.
Maybe Ibeabuchi, who proved virtually nothing by the way, wasn’t Joe Louis in the making? Tua walked into the biggest fight of his career looking like one of those pencil topper trolls, & gave a performance poorer than any Galento produced on the grounds of effort, at the least. Tua is almost mythical on this board. He was no better than Galento.
I'm not nearly as high on Ibeabuchi as most of this board. However, he did have some very good attributes: power, stamina and chin. The guy could chop away all night long and pretty much grind down anybody that wasn't bigger than him or who had better boxing skills. Tua fought him in the wheelhouse where all of Ike's advantages lay and did well.
He remains more questions than answers. Some people treat him like he achieved Sal Sanchez levels of accomplishment.
Galento did lose to some random guy who was 168lbs in the ring and Galento wasn’t particular young at the time either, but Foster did lose to some mediocre heavyweights, everyone Foster lost to at heavyweight would beat Galento except his last lost when he was 39. At his absolute best, I’d favour Foster narrowly if he moved up in his prime, not when he was green when he had his losses.
You think Galento would run a prime Ike close? Knock out Moorer or Ruiz in less then a round? Seriously?
When I watch this video...it speaks for itself. If anybody struggled with TG, maybe that fighter should be reevaluated? Foster easy. This content is protected
Tony was notorious for clowning, slacking, and half-assing his training. Hence the story of Jack Dempsey (who I believe believed and invested in Tony at some point) taking off his coat and beating him up badly after finally realizing the Orange Orangutan is not finding the discipline he needed.
Who is Ibeabuchi? We never found out. If you’re my age or older, you’ll have seen guys like Michael Grant get talked about like they were something big, too…then they stepped up & they weren’t anybody. Ibeabuchi never made that step up, so who’s to say definitively he was going to amount to something? I can’t looking at his résumé, honestly. Moorer in 2002? Ruiz? These are big accomplishments? Galento would knock them dead at some point or another. Those are not proof of any greatness.
You are really comparing Tua and Galento? Tua was an Olympic bronze medalist that knocked out former world champions in Moorer, Rahman, Maskaev and Ruiz. Just look at film of both fighting for ****s sake. I'm not even a fan of Tua's at all and think he is somewhat overrated but to compare Galento to him is just stupid.
