I know am stealing this from somebody who started a thread on George Foreman's top 10 wins. I'm just curious to see a list of Larry Holmes top ten wins

Just because Mercer is the best win of Holmes' "second career" I would trade Mercer and Witherspoon.
And instead of Muhammad Ali, Marvis Frazier could come in, who has the already mentioned Smith in his resume.

    Ken Norton
    Earnie Shavers 1
    Earnie Shavers 2
    Gerry Cooney
    Ray Mercer
    Trevor Berbick
    Tim Witherspoon
    Mike Weaver 1
    Bonecrusher Smith
    Leon Spinks

    No particular order.

People leave out Shavers 1, but it may have been Larry's most dominant performance, other than against Leon. Earnie was coming off the Ali fight. A lot people thought Earnie won the Ali fight. He was highly ranked at the time (#3, I believe). Holmes won every second of that fight.

And people forget the Leon Spinks fight, but Leon was back to form heading in to that fight. Leon had just stopped the #1 contender Bernardo Mercado and looked damn good doing so. Leon was the #2 contender behind Cooney.

Holmes-Leon was a live fight. People were excited about it. But Leon talked crap to Diane Holmes before the fight, and Larry was out for blood. Larry hated Leon. And he beat the hell out of him.

Good list but I'd rank Weaver and Berbick above Williams.

Holmes didn’t have a lot of nice things to say about Leon in his book he said the animosity started with LS disrespecting Joe Louis at an event I forget which one.
