Obviously fair play to then but can't believe the likes of these events happen, KSI, Tommy Fury etc are bad enough but this is a roided up 30 year old against a roided up bloke who is elligble for a freedom pass

    @Saintpat

I'm sorry I have to call you out on this I think some of your posts in regards to Tyson are not good in taste.

I know you don't like him you've made that very clear over the years but there's no need to make fun of him especially at 58 years old.

I don't know why you dislike him so much but that's up to you but I think you need to rein it in a bit with some these posts.

I like you as a poster but I'm not a fan of a few of the posts you've made recently to be quite honest.

It seemed to me that the main commentator had not prepared properly, the female co commentator didn't know what to say and Roy Jones Jr was laughing the whole time.

The ringside reporter reminded me of some of those we unfortunately have seen recently on U.K. shows.

It must be added that the female studio host was really good, but we could have done without many of the guests in the studio.

Not a current mod but am the unofficial custodian of these stats.

Right now it's #14. As the buzz trickles down over the rest of the day I expect it to pass Bivol vs. Canelo (2,328 replies) and Mayweather vs. Guerrero (2,334 replies) but probably level out there at #12. Joshua vs. Ngannou at 11th place with 2,541 looks beyond reach.

Taylor won a bout that was a credit to the sport of boxing. What followed had nothing to do with sport,I turned it off after two rounds.

lol canelo don’t care any more
He is in a semi retirement tour
    This fight will be next
$50 milly to hop around & spar?
    - it’s happening.

I think Tank Calling him out was hilarious
& frankly wouldn’t mind seeing that fight.
Would be funny to see Tank KO “Fake Jaul”

If Jake wants credit, he needs to fight someone North of 175 and within a dozen years of his age.
He did that with Hugh Fury and it went better for him than I thought it would.

He may well have some potential...he's only 27 and he's only been at this gig for four years.

Sergio Martinez didn't box till he was 20.

yeah I was talking to my barber about it
He does have potential & I do give him credit.
But the Paul kid ain’t about baptizing himself in fire the old way - he is about getting Paid!

there is no way he is going from $50milly for fight a 58 year old man to climbing up the ranks with club fighters that could likely clean his clock for no where near the pay days.

Thanks. Clown shows exist to be made fun of.

Mike did not get hurt. He did not get humiliated or embarrassed by the social media influencer who took it easy on him. So I don’t see why it’s in bad taste to have a laugh at a clown show.

It’s not about not liking Mike Tyson … I’d do the same if old Evander or Duran stepped into the ring with someone of Paul’s ilk with similar results. I’m not shedding a tear for Mike lining his pockets for a sparring exhibition.

I'm not trying to hate on you Pat but I just don't think these recent comments are you personally I think very highly of you and that's more in line with what I was trying to get across.

    Thank you.

To me, this ‘fight’ was a spectacle put on to fleece the public/Netflix out of millions of dollars. It’s the circus come to town and ‘come see the bearded lady’ type stuff.

I find that ripe for poking some fun at. Mike was a full and willing participant who lent his stature as a revered former heavyweight champion to the farce and he was well paid for it. So I don’t see the harm in making a few jokes at his expense … he fully signed up for it and promoted it as a real fight.

I’m glad he didn’t get hurt and I wouldn’t be taking a light tone if he had. But what he did, to me, cheapens the sport. So it’s fair to criticize and lampoon.

I, likewise, respect you and what you bring to the forum.

I will also point out that I haven’t said anything absurd like that this takes away from his legacy even the tiniest bit. It cashed in on Tyson’s fame and the public’s fascination with him, but it no way does it lessen what he accomplished in his real career.

He’s (to me) a borderline top 10 heavyweight of all time. Some have him much higher, others lower, but regardless he’s in the discussion among the top fighters ever in the division. The sideshow with Jake Paul has zero to do with that.
