Michael Gerard Tyson vs. Jacob Joseph Paul

Exactly re: legs. He wasn’t pushing off of his legs at all and had no footspeed. Without legs you’re a sitting duck throwing arm punches more or less.

David Haye said that is his issue. His legs are gone and that was where a lot of his power came from. He talks a lot of nonsense but said if he can find a way to get his legs back then he could fight again. As much of a douche as he could be it was sad to see him as a sitting duck against a fighter as limited as Bellew in the rematch post Achilles injury, his legs were gone too.

 

Funny because david haye was the exact example i was going to use in the post above. I,d bet money jake paul would beat david haye now and hayes not really an old man hes just injured.

Tysons knee blew out against danny williams years back. Looks like he re injured it in training camp and further injured it in the first round last night. His movement was actually pretty good the first minute and a half.

Maybe he tired.....no one can say for sure but looked to me like he re-injured the knee and he was a sitting duck after that. Luckily jake paul was decent enough to carry him through the rest of the fight.

 

I see the Tyson fans/idiots are polluting social media claiming Mike pulled his punches and could have knocked out Paul. What planet are these morons on or even better, what drugs are they on?

 

The drugs probably nostalgia. A lot of people grew up and early memories we,re watching tyson demolish his way to the title.

Most likely just enjoy not living in reality that the fella they kids/teenagers seen as superman lost to a youtuber.

 

It's amazing the Texas Commission approved an obviously juicing 27-year-old man to fight a 58-year-old still battling the effects of major surgery some months earlier, who had an obviously injured knee. Mike didn't even try to hide the knee injury, he was fighting with a knee wrap/brace on.

 

Madness. Fight should never have happened and should defo have been halted after the major surgery.

Money talks tho....its probably hard to be the guy that veto,s a 10 million payday for someone.

Anyone over say 40 should have continual extensive medicals....fitness tests throughtout camp with a back up opponent prepared for failing knowing they probably wont be banned by age etc alone.

I dont think i would have allowed it straight after the roy jones fight even without the health scare at 54...again tho hard to be the guy that vetoes it all.

 

Tyson looked bad because it was a work. I am not sure what could be more obvious. He wasn't throwing. Go back and look at it. Why did he hesitate? Scared of Paul? He was holding back from the opening bell. Paul fights are not real.

 

He didn't even throw punches. He stood there, and didn't jump on a single opening. You have to be either lying, or a complete novice to say otherwise.

 

to be fair, Tyson was also obviously juiced. To the gills. Probably on a program design and administered by a pro body builder. To look like he did at age 58 is absolutely insane. With shrinking due to age, doubt he’s more than 5’9” anymore, and he was a lean 228. That’s insane. Although it does show that looks are nothing.

 

40s seem fine. 50s are the issue.

For HW examples, look at George Foreman, Larry Holmes, and Evander Holyfield fighting at 48, 49, and 48 respectively. Any of those three from those fights would have smashed Paul. And if we could pull back a few years earlier, the Foreman who fought Holyfield? Dear god. Paul would have lost via decapitation.

 

Tyson and Paul should be both be arrested. They completely outdone Mayweathers legalised bank robbery with his exhibitions. Look I get that Tyson nearly died and fair play to him for getting in shape but the fight was an absolute stinker. He was clearly injured and couldn’t use his legs. He whored himself out for the payday showing complete disregard for the fans.

 

He didn't because he couldn't, he is shot to pieces FFS.

 

You don't "lose the ability to use your legs" in your fifties. You do "lose your ability to use your legs" when you are participating in a work, and have to stand there chewing your glove instead of doing what you have instinctively done all your life. FFS
