Deontay Wilder's career is winding down now, with only one or two fights left.

Do you think they will vote Wilder into the IBHOF?

There is a chance he will based on others who have made it but does he deserve it? To quote The Wolf of Wall Street "Absolutely ****ing not!"

He'll get in, but he he was a paper champion who avoided contenders for years and instead fought journeymen like Szpilka and Washington.

He would be the first heavyweight in boxing history to have 10 title defenses and not make it. I think he gets in. He is considered one of the hardest punchers of all time. He brought excitement to the sport. He'll get in.

    Without question.

Given the IBHOFs only 30 years old the IBHOFs standards seem higher then they will end up being. If someones a "borderline Hall of Famer" they aren't in the IBHOF yet. Wilders a no brainer.

I think yes he will, because it's the hall of fame. On the one hand, some say the trilogy with Fury should be enough. But Micky Ward, who was also involved in a popular trilogy and actually won one of his fights has not been inducted (Gatti was). So, I can't see the case for it based on that. On the other hand, he was a prominent American heavyweight (during a period when America was desperate for a champion) who defended the WBC belt 10 times (irrespective of the quality of his defences). I think he gets in because of that. IBHOF is based in America after all.

I've said it a few times on here before, he's going to get into the HOF in spite of his record, and in spite of himself. I don't think he would be deserving of that shoulder tap, but there's a number of guys that are there that I wouldn't put there....................

And an example of someone who should be that isn't: I will always proclaim that Michael Nunn should be in the HOF, and it's a travesty he isn't. Two 5+ title reigns and the number 1 guy in 2 divisions at a certain point, and we can really say he should've gotten a 3rd title in a 3rd division...............

    I'd be surprised tbh.

I used to think he was a lock, but now I just don't see it.

I won't complain if he does though.

The bar has already been low for a while and there's been plenty of fighters with not so stellar resumes that got in. Whether people like it or not Wilder is going to get in eventually based on his KOs, title defenses, fights with Fury, and popularity. I can even see him getting inducted in his first year of eligibility due to recency bias.

    He's a lock.

Ranked #10 all-time in longest single reign. (Everyone in the top 10 is in.)

Ranked #5 all-time with most consecutive successful title defenses (Everyone in the top 10 is in)

Ranked #1 all-time with the highest KO percentage of any former heavyweight champion (Even if he doesn't hold that top spot forever, everyone in the top 10 is in.)

These aren't "low bars" as some have suggested here. These are ALL-TIME bars.

And he did it while being outweighed by EVERYONE he fought for the last 12 years of his career.

Wake me up when some champ reigns longer, makes 11 successful defenses in a row, AND ends their career with a higher KO percentage ... while being outweighed by everyone he fights for 12 freaking years straight.
