Up against a motivated Tyson Fury? Is it an extremely close fight? Or is there a wide difference between one or the other and the fights a let down?
Fury is a bad style match up for Bowe he's a big man knows how to fight well on the outside and Bowe didn't deal well with fighters who fought him at range. However.....Bowe has a good over hand right that Fury has a weakness to he's been decked multiple times by right hands. Bowe also has much better workrate and i don't think Fury could keep up with Bowe's output. I'll say Bowe by decision in a competitive fight.
I like this answer! I think Big D was capable of hurting Fury, stunning him enough to get a decision. Fighting at that pace he did in 92 could definitely bring home the win.
The most underrated aspect of Bowe's game is his punch output. He threw 711 punches vs Holyfield in their 1st fight and 786 punches in their 2nd fight. That's a very good output for a big man that's just under 70 punches thrown a round on average I believe. I think Fury would have alot of issues keeping up with Bowes punch output he likes to fight at his own pace.
I see Fury as having the stylistic edge here, and while neither of them was consistent, Fury held it together for much longer.
I've always compared Fury to Bowe. A big man without that sculpted physique who has a big heart, a surprising work rate and can fight on the inside way better than his size and shape suggests he should. I make prime Bowe one of those boxing what ifs and an absolute monster h2h fighter. I think he beats Fury, maybe even stopping him late. Everything Fury does in the sloppy last minute looking style, Bowe does slightly quicker and a lot better.
Total mismatch. Bowe by decapitation This content is protected It would look like this except Gonzalez had better hair.
Bowe had talent and was a good inside fighter, if he had stayed in condition consistently his legend would have better. Fury by UD
