Definitely a bruising fight no doubt about it. Neither guy went backwards and both were really durable. I do think Bennie was slightly better overall. Plus he is not a murderous piece of **** like Carter was.

I just always remember the story about Carter leaving town because he couldn't stop sparring Sonny Liston but his nose would randomly start bleeding  Not the scientific way to vote but it's in my heed.

Both were hard men. Each had a ceiling, and that ceiling seems to me to be fairly level for both … world class but not world champion material. Each has some nice wins, each has some puzzling losses.

My gut says Hurricane is a bit better, a bit more versatile and a bit more explosive. Come-forward pressure fighters like Bennie didn’t seem to be the type to trouble him as much.

I don’t have a strong feeling on it, but I like Carter here by decision. More adaptable.

Carter was a damn machine, he's always Infront of you and was always ready to bang you every moment,bt Bennie is more sneaky,he can pressure you slowly, then went into a rampage in the ropes,,plus with his philly defense too...hard to call, but considering Bennie Briscoe was just Rubin Carter and George Benton stacked into one person I slightly edge Briscoe

I can totally envision these two going 1-1-1 over a trilogy.

Two extremely tough guys with lots of attitude and no quit. I make Briscoe the slight favorite
