I’ve been a critic of Tyson’s career before - but probably more so in view of all the woulda, shoulda, coulda excuses plied for him.

Imo, those excuses can be OTT and go well beyond practical.

Also, IF those excuses could be legitimately applied to Mike - they could/should also be equally applied to many other fighters (and often, that isn’t the case) - including some of those who prime Mike defeated.

Having said that, Mike still had an incredible material career without imagined fillers - which is exactly what I judge him on.

Some of the talking down and dismissals of those achievements that I have read here are extremely unjustified, imo.

Suffice to say, Wilder isn’t a patch on prime Mike.

H2H, there’s a chance Mike could cop a stunner or two but, imo, Wilder’s time in the ring with Mike would otherwise be very limited, with Deontay very much on the short end.

The name Tyson triggers his PTSD.

Wilder is terrible. The man lost every single meaningful fight in his career. He js a journeyman who was fed lesser journeyman. His lone good win was against 39 y/o Luis Ortiz and his fans celebrate that while simultaneously belittling losses to Parker and Zhang because Wilder himself was 39.

Wilder is a bum. In any remotely talented era he gets stopped before he can yell BOMBZ ZQUAD or before he can complain about ancestral spirits or egg weights or how his costume weakened him. Or like when he accused a HOF/ATG trainer of spiking his water lmfao then went out and hired an OnlyFans man to train him - cant make this stuff up.

I hope Wilder fights again so he gets KTFO again. Deontay repeatedly said he "wanted to take a body" so please, Deontay, do us all a favor and keep on fighting.

I'm in no way defending Wilder, but he won his first title fight against highly rated Stiverne, and also won against Ortiz, who was highly regarded as well. They were pretty meaningfull fights.

His resume of course is a joke and his opinion of Mike is just a projection.

Wilder being delusional as always. He doesn't even come close to being compared to Iron Mike. He has literally zero wins that are worth mentioning alongside the likes of Larry Holmes and Michael Spinks.

Jealously. All it is. Which is weird in the sense because Wilder should have plenty of money in the bank and living a happy life whereas Iron Mike has made so many bad choices that he had to get another big pay day at 58.

I don't mean that to disrespect Tyson the boxer, but just to say.. there's nothing that he has said that should effect Wilder.

    This exactly.

Tyson's run was short-lived and done when he was extremely young. However, Tyson has like 10x the resume of Wilder. And in a H2H match-up, I doubt Wilder sees the third round if you want to take any prime version of Wilder versus a prime version of Tyson.

Tyson beat 8 Top 10 guys in 3.5 years. Wilder beat 2 Top 10 guys over a span of 16 years, lol.

Tyson peaked too early and then went to jail. He should have been fighting Holyfield and Lewis in the early 90s.

I don't think Wilder would have beat Mitch Green to be honest.

Tyson doesn’t have an all-time CV but it’s significantly better than the Wilder one.

And H2H in their primes, Tyson may have actually killed Wilder, who should learn to stay in his ****ing lane.

It stems from a 2017 or 2018 interview where Mike basically said he believes in his prime if wilder stepped in with him, he would KO him. And also Mike basically said the jury was still out on wilder because he had no notable wins. Which REALLY wasn’t unreasonable! Lol So of course… since Mike didn’t kiss wilder’s ass like most in media we’re doing then, anointing wilder as “THE MOST DEVASTATING PUNCHER EVER” wilder took offense to that. So him dismissing Mike’s competition is payback.

Pretty petty and high school type behavior but what’s to be expected from an individual that tried blaming a Gypsy Spell and costume for his horrid beating he took at the hands of Fury.

And to tell you the truth… Frans Botha by himself was a better win than ANY of wilder’s wins on his resume. We won’t even talk about Razor Ruddock. Mr YULAVERSE should STFU.

Holyfield yes, but he pulled out due to the injury. Lewis didn't deserve the shot at the title until late 1992 when Mike was already in jail.

Of course. He was still an undefeated Top 5 contender.
