I'm uncertain whether I've mentioned this here before. IMO, Joshua's career to this point resembles not that of Lewis or any other heavyweight, but of Oscar De La Hoya. Some comparisons: Olympic gold medalists, fast tracked in their careers, great start in beating multiple world champions and winning various titles, shocking first defeats, which changed them as fighters. In Oscar's case the loss to Trinidad caused him to lose his passion for the sport. While in Joshua's case it made him more shell shocked. Two losses to the same opponent - Shane Mosley and Oleksandr Usyk. And I guess you can compare the loss to Dubois the same way as the loss to Hopkins. Although Oscar was competitive against B-Hop, while Joshua was absolutely destroyed.

There are obviously some stuff aren't the same. However I think AJ's career will like that of De La Hoya. Where he fought everybody in his era, just that he came up short against the very elite.

Although Lewis and Joshua might have the same skin color they are not even from the same continent, Lewis are from a Jamaican decent and represented Canada in the Olympics.

OP need reevaluate if he really is a boxing fan at all.

"Lots of guys fought one Klitschko brother."

Only seven beat a Klitschko brother, including Lewis and Joshua. This is out of 116 collective opponents.

"Not really so much in common."

There are differences of course. But in heavyweight history I'd argue that there is no more similar fighter to Lewis than Joshua and vice versa.

True. One of my first thoughts when Joshua was caught by that Dubois right hand in round 1 was "That would have sparked Lewis".

"I don't think Bowe was his main rival tbh."

I'll edit it to make the parallel stronger and uncontroversial.

"Can you honestly imagine Lennox at 34 getting completely outclassed and beaten from pillar to post by someone like Daniel Dubois?"

    Yes:

Funny, you must have forgotten that Lewis ended his career with having beaten every opponent he faced:

He's not a boxing fan he's a Fury cocksucker who tries to discredit most boxers from yesteryear. He's had 4 confirmed alts, probably more

Do you understand what outclassed and beaten from pillar to post actually means?

Hint: it doesnt mean getting caught with one big shot in a fight you were winning.

Lewis plays poker in tournaments, AJ does not. Therefore Lennox is much more manly.
