Both lost to their respective Louises (Lewises). Tua to Lennox and Galento to Joe. But how do they fare against one another. I've always thought of Galento as the forerunner of Tua. They both had similar physical attributes, style and abilities and both had a crushing left hook. People automatically will say Tua wins but Galento would have a serious chance. I would anticipate a back and forth war with both men's chin letting them see the final bell. I anticipate a split decision, but I don't know to whom.
What's so funny? Everyone always gets down on Galento. This content is protected In this interview, Galento said about his loss to Joe Louis "when he beat me, he beat the best"
My first thought is Tua, but I think Tony Galento gets a horrible rap on this forum, gets unfairly ridiculed as a jabroni, and I think it's just because people don't like his personality/aura/crudeness/(lack of) style and finesse. He was not world championship material, ever, but he could hit like an SOB and he didn't know nothin' about any Marquis of Queensbury rules and if you got in the ring with him, you might eventually take him out or even take him out very quickly, but you're going to know you've been in a damn fight for however long you're in there with him.
It’s a fair argument to say that Galento gets a bad rap relative to his own actual quality but I think it might be an extreme overcompensation to compare him to David Tua.
