Has there been another journeyman in heavyweight history with a colorful career as Derek Chisora? Somebody who would fight the rising, the failing and the established and never retire?

Marion Wilson has a killer resume for a cruiser sized heavy who couldn't punch. Everett "Bigfoot" Martin too.

No, he's the greatest Gatekeeper of all time. If you win regularly against ranked opposition, you aren't a journeyman.

He’s a hell of a lot better than a journeyman. He’s in the gatekeeper/perma-contender category.

In recent memory besides Chisora I would say someone like Gabe Rosado or Michael Katsidis comes to mind.

Yeah, he's gotta be up there as one of the best gate keepers at heavyweight that I can think of.

Del's a proper test for even the best heavyweight fighters. A hard nights work for anyone. His mental strength resilience in loss is off the scale too.

Metaphorically speaking, I've always said he can take a pasting on Saturday night, maybe feel down all day Sunday but come Monday morning he's good to go again. No negative doubting mental demons with our Derek...

Calling Chisora a journeyman is harsh, he is I'd say between a contender and a gatekeeper.

He is a great fixture for the HW division and man I wish he was fighting Miller.
