He still had a much harder time with him than Larry had with Mercer. This indicates the contrast in levels

If we’re simply discussing title reigns I would have to choose Wlad.

    1. Wlad unified - Larry Never did
    2. Wlad was extremely dominant barely losing a round when he found his groove.

    3. The quality of opposition - whether you give it to Wlad or to Holmes I believe the difference negligible, not enough to offset the first two points above.

    Title Run Wlad

Witherspoon in the late 2000s would've beaten a couple of guys like Dimitrenko or Joe Hanks and then gotten a title shot against VItali or Wlad for more money than he made in the entirety of his actual career. After taking his ass kicking, he would've turned into an inactive blob of fat and looked stale against top 50 guys while hoping for another payday that he may or may not have gotten, such as getting on a plane to get his ass kicked abroad by Pulev or Povetkin.

It's simply the nature of the era.

But we’re discussing title reigns not who was better.

Pvetkin was doped up on beast pellets and performance poppers. This is why he surged late to get a come form behind stoppage against Takam. No ped Pov gassed out against Huck
Joshua fought Pov who was benefiting from ped residuals. Didn't need a single clinch or bear hug to win

Witherspoon was relevant for atleast 13 years from the Snipes fight in 1983 up until the Mercer fight in 1996. The only reason he didn't get a title shot in the 90s even though he was ranked was because he was blacklisted after the fall out with Don King.

Funnily enough Tim Witherspoon would be Vitali's best win of his career.

I have Wlad in my top 10 ATG, but did he ever beat anyone even as good as past-it-but-hyper-motivated Norton?

The guy who was overall better, Fury, he lost to. Still a very great fighter.

You mean the fight he won every round in and only got knocked down because of illegal back of the head shots?

Commenting on my posts constantly from other posters when you don't want to quote me yourself to lure me into an argument with you is weird.

You have no rebuttal to my post as per usual so you go down the sarcastic route and try and be funny no one finds you funny BTW.

Lastly stay out of my conversations with your snide little comments I don't like you I don't want to engage with you so do me a favour and do one cheers.

Byrd, Povetkin, Haye all prime all got dominated whereas Holmes arguably lost to past his best Norton

2 legit drops. The third hit back of head because Wlad turned his back from the combat

Povetkin got dominated by illegal holding , not by boxing skill
