If the December 2003 rematch between Lewis and Klitschko had occurred, who would have won?

From a rematch he'd already won, by stoppage.

He defo could have won if he really wanted that rematch and had that hungry mindset to prove himself. However, if he was having second thoughts then it becomes tricky because you get to the point where you feel you don't need to prove yourself.

Lewis knew the answer which is why he retired.

Especially that it wasn't mentioned until like 2010 when Emanuel said it first in the interview. Lewis' haters are grasping for straws soooo much.

When I first joined this board the debate raged on and on, but now it seems the majority have begun to see sense.

Lewis as a defending champion stopped his opponent. Sure it was great action and for the HW division that was becoming quite rare, but ultimately Vitali couldn't meet the final bell.

How many times did Vitali rematch someone he'd just stopped? Does anyone really doubt that a better prepared Lewis would be more successful?

With time most people now see it the right way.

And actually it did more for Lewis's legacy. Had he stopped Vitali again in the rematch, Vitali probably doesn't go onto achieve greatness in the division like he did.

Klitschko would've won. Lewis landed a lucky hit on Klitschko if that cut never happened Lewis would've got his backside served to him.
