Wrong guy to ask here, I tend to overrate the hell out of Conn at HW in fantasy. :yep

Joe should win, the deglutition of him stopping Bill is a chore though...

    Walcott.

Conn was an incredible fighter but Walcott at his very peak at hw was better. Conn was a great mover but we speak about Jersey Joe Walcott in here, the guy with a footwork that's second to none at hw, including Ali and Tunney. A guy who knew every trick and angle, with a very good defense and power in both hands. Conn would hold his own and it would be a great fight. I don't think Walcott would repeat the feat of Louis and knock Conn out. But he wins a clear UD, something like 9-6 rounds. Out of 3 fights I think Conn would edge one.

Hard to say. I'll go with Walcott 2 out of 3. I think Walcott wins a hard fought decision in the first bout. I think Conn outboxes Walcott in the second fight. I think Walcott stops Conn after being outboxed for about 7or 8 rounds in the rubber match.

When Joe didn't have to worry about the other guys power he could be very good.

I don't know...Walcott was best against and was best able to trot out his bag of tricks against a more aggressive, "come at you" puncher/slugger type. Conn's style is certainly more related to Charles' than to Louis, for instance, and I think Walcott would have found a mobile, elusive Conn a trickier proposition than a walk-in slugger type. Conn, that is if he could keep that macho-Irish thing of his under control that spelled his doom with Louis, could refuse to come forward and lead, thus making Walcott the aggressor, which would make it a bit harder for him pull his tricks that he was known for.

I like Walcott by Decision...Conn would box and move Walcott the stronger but content with UD

    Bump.
I suspect Walcott chins him at some point, if he’s aggressive, he could easily bully Conn, and it’s not like he’d be walking onto punches, because he was versatile and elusive on the front foot, like in his trilogy with Charles for example, not coming forward in the same patterns etc.

Walcott could possibly struggle against conn, his style would pose problems for him.
But if conn tried to get in close and take the fight to Joe then he could find himself looking up at the ref counting.

I also like Conn by decision. The gulf in class is bigger than the one in size.

Absolutely. Conn would be too fast and wouldn't fall for any of Walcott's cute tricks

Agreed. I’m leaning towards Walcott but not as strongly as some are
