How much of a hot take is it that Marciano wouldn't stop a prime Bonavena?

Thinking about it, Russell wasn't half wrong.
Rocky's main components are from his conditioning and his heavy fists, his skills are just the cream on top to help him bulldoze his opponents,if Rocky didn't had that "3am motivation" conditioning he'll certainly wouldn't be as good as he was today.

Nothing 'novel' about my response, just stating basic facts. You being an old fart and having a YouTube channel means absolutely nothing to me, doesn't make your opinions any less wrong.

You don't know the "basic facts". That's the overlying issue here.

I see your viewpoint here, and its not unreasonable at all. However I believe Rocky being a two fisted puncher would be the defining factor

? How was that "clearly not a prime Charles", he looked as excellent as he ever had on the film, and thats with the first half of the fight missing where he butchered Marci

He was a great fighter but after 97 fights and the age he was, he's not prime.

How is a guy the same age and doing the best he ever did in his career not prime?

Between 1953 and 1955 Charles record was 6 wins and 8 losses with both losses to Rocky coming in 1954. Ezzard began as a middleweight who grew into a light heavy and was at the end of his career with around a 100 fights at the time fighting bigger men ,,, clearly not a prime fighter or close to it.
    It's not really debatable ,,,,
