Broken orbital is a legitimately bad injury. If true, then I'd cut Ramirez some slack.

Yes, Arthur Abraham fought like 8 rounds with a broken jaw and so have others, but I don't expect someone with a broken orbital to keep going. Rigo's was worse because he quit due to being embarrassed. Hadn't even gotten hit that much, just clowned.

So it´s OK to quit during the middle of a fight, when you have not been hurt at all?

But the stoppage still stands that it was a legal shot that broke the bone. Ramirez stances is he quit cause he was being fouled.

Had he ate that last punched and waved it of without that excuse I dont think there would be such an uproar. All he had to say was I got hit and I couldn’t see and there is unbelievable pain. I dont think anyone would have said anything.

Who quit because he was loosing the fight, not because he suffered a painful injury or got hurt with punches. He had no reason to quit besides just giving up.
2 time Olympic gold medalist, undefeated, world champion for over 5 years: quit after 6 rounds because he was behind on the scorecards.

Honestly I don’t judge either one of them. It will affect their legacy and likely careers when it happens, but they’re human and lots can happen.

Rigo was definitely a great fighter regardless of his quitting vs a prime Loma, who looked way bigger on the night. I don’t think there was much to gain for him continuing that night.

If Ramirez’ face was broken, I won’t hold it against him for deciding to call it a night.

Which makes it an even worse quit job.

Nah the old decrepid part blunts that being a young healthy guy who's still at the top of your game and quitting is worse

Yea, strongly disagree. One had a legitimate injury/got hurt, the other simply quit.

Rigo did a quit against the no mas GOAT who stopped all his opponents at that weight, including making 3 others do a quit too

He did a quit out of pure frustration at not being able to find any answers to deal with Loma's technical wizardry and unique style because he knew that Loma was toying with him whilst still being in first gear and was about to go Matrix mode on his ass.

Rigo is used to landing with laser precision when he throws but he couldn't hit Loma with a grain of sand if he threw a bucketful of it at him

Robsy did a quit because he suffered a very serious eye injury. No fighter should be expected to risk losing their sight in one eye. We only have two of them. It's not like it's a fingernail or a clump of hair

You would judge an old man harsher than a young guy in his prime?

You are acting as if he were 50. He was 37 and still more than capable of competing at the world level. Youth has nothing to do with this.
Especially when Rigo went on to have a war with Ceja. Even won the BS regular WBA belt several years later.
