I'm not sure anything beats the commentary right when Foreman knocks out Moorer. They're in the middle of discussing Foreman being clearly behind on the cards, then one says something along the lines of "but he could always turn it around with one punch", and as soon as that statement is made, Foreman knocks out Moorer, and they say "and it just happened!!!!"

    Couldn't have timed it better.

"There it is. The EGO has landed." - Reg Gutteridge on Eubank entering the ring for Benn II

Three best witty/funny comments of all time, all made by fighter commentators:

Blow-by-blow man: Jerry, what's the best way to fight Duran?

    Jerry Quarry: With a friend!

    That was in Duran-Fernandez.

Blow-by-blow guy: Estrada is 25, but he clearly has the face of a man who's been through some wars.

Ruben Castillo: He must be married then.

That was in Juan Estrada vs Jesus Poll.

Lampley: If Golota had that kind of uppercut, he would have finished Riddick Bowe.

Roy: I don't know, it depends on where he landed it at.

That was in Tua vs Izon.

I suspect it might have been Gutteridge who suggested a fighter had started so fast he was fighting like he had a taxi waiting outside with the meter running....

The commentator during Ali v Cleveland Williams always sticks out to me

"Ali testing his opponent, he's looking like a dancer out there"
