I lose respect for Ennis if this fight happens. You can't just turn down Ortiz for unification and then fight a blown up lightweight for no belts.

Teo will get stopped in round 7. These guys are my two favorite fighters so it's intriguing, especially when Teo gets in the pocket, but Boots will be too much....

I agree as he should be fighting at 154, but still Teo gonna be one of the best names on his resume tho, two time lineal

Beat me to it. Not a good look at all for Boots. Even worse if he loses to Teo.

I don't think Boots could stop traffic even if he had a red light strapped to his head

So Boots (IBF 147 belt holder) should NOT fight a guy moving up from 140, but he should move up himself to fight a guy at 154?

Welcome to ESB logic at its finest, Lance.

Also, we have no idea when this proposed fight with Teo will occur. If it's in February, the idea that Ennis "ducked" Ortiz may have some substance.

Alternatively, if the Teo fight isn't until May, it's quite conceivable that Ennis had no intention of fighting anyone in the time period (February) proposed for the Ortiz fight, which means the Ortiz bout was scuttled as a result of bad timing and not any reluctance on Ennis's part to fight.

But he will stop Lopez. Nobody at 147 beats Boots

Ennis " “My performance……it was okay,” “I don’t know, man….I think it might be time to go to 154. I feel like at 154, I’m going to be way better, and my pop is going to be how it’s supposed to be. If we could get one of these guys (an elite welterweight) to stop playing, let’s make it happen. But if not, then 154, here I come.”

So far Ennis has zero offer from anyone else at 147. Gets an offer at 154 with Saudi money to back it up. Turns that down. Now lining up to fight a someone that is neither 147 or 154.

The difference with fighting Ortiz is Ennis will be moving up. Fighting Lopez he is dragging a guy up. There is nothing for Ennis to gain beating Lopez. That is the difference. The same can be said for Ortiz. Ortiz would have more to lose that Ennis cause he has been fighting at 154 and is dragging Ennis up. But in defense of Ortiz , Ennis and his promoter are the ones saying they wanted a chance at 154.

I gave Boots **** for thinking about fighting Teo at 147. That's because I thought his last fight was at 154. Knowing that wasn't the case, it is not a duck. Sorry Boots.

It's a bit of a waste land right now so that's nothing to write home about

If he wins it's on points, Lopez will survive

lol no. Lopez would get stopped, and then they will say Teo was too small. This fight shouldn't be happening
