Why has Spence not fought since Crawford?

Spence hasn’t said anything. There were rumors of a Fundora fight in January but clearly that isn’t happening. I honestly think he doesn’t fight again. He knows he’s not the same fighter anymore. Too many injuries and the Crawford fight exposed it to the fullest.

Spence is defo spent. He's now just quietly fading away.

 

But has he been asked? I can't believe no boxing writer has asked him why he hasn't been active for so long.

 

I dunno, but I think it’d because Crawford DESTROYED him…

He went from thinking he was “the guy” at one of the historically premier weights of the sport, and near the top of the pound for pound list, to looking like he doesn’t even belong in that conversation…

I know there were circumstances that led to this on top of Bud being better, but that’s gotta be hard to wrestle with.

Hopefully the inactivity is a sign he’s been good with his money….

 

The last time he was publicly interviewed (that I've seen) was when Tank fought Martin. He said he didn't want to answer any questions about himself. He was there to promote Frank Martin. Spence just hasn't been in the spotlight that much after the Crawford loss.

 

Newby became a noob on the 25th of June, 2009. Frank became a noob on the 25th of July, 2004. Are these mere coincidences? Is that what we're meant to believe? Well, I believe nothing.
