Peak Ray Mercer Versus Peak Oscar Bonavena

good matchup, i dont think bonavena would be able to hurt ray much so hes gonna be trying to counter ray probably and i think ray might hit home on his chin

I’m struggling to understand the votes, what does Bonavena do better than Mercer? Mercer is bigger, stronger, just as durable if not more, similar power, Mercer is more well schooled and the hand speed is similar.
I see Mercer winning this fight however he wants, meaning whichever way he chooses to fight, at range or on the inside, he had better technique which would mean he’d beat Bonavena to the jab, and he’d outmuscle him on the inside to get punches off.

I went with Mercer but honestly this would be an incredible fight

I favored Mercer as I stated before. But I wouldn’t be so quick to say that he pulverizes Bonavena. Oscar went 15 rounds with a peaking Joe Frazier. Oscar was a damn tough dude
