I honestly think that Joshua despite being only the 3rd best fighter of this generation behind the great Oleksandr Usyk & Tyson Fury. .. Has a better resume (better wins) than Mike Tyson,

Mike Tyson's best wins list is unimpressive.

Joshua has beaten Wladimir Klitschko, Alexander Povetkin, Joseph Parker, Andy Ruiz, Kubrat Pulev, Dillian Whyte

When you go through Mike's best wins his resume looks a little thin. Guys like Tubbs , Berbick,, Bruno, Old Larry, Seldon. C'mon..

He doesn't have anything close to a win like Klitschko.

I think Anthony Joshua the 3rd best fighter of this era, definitely has a better resume than the overrated Mike Tyson

Fun fact: Tyson fought seven current or former champions in his first thirty five fights.

Boxing wasn't global then like it is now, How many of those opponents were from Tysons own country? most if not all.

Tyson couldn't deliver when he faced the best possible opponents (Holyfield, Lewis), he was out of his depth. He doesn't have a win like Joshua does over Klitschko.

Mike Tyson went from being the number 10 to the number 1 one-by-one, and the undisputed title belts one-by-one. He had literally beaten everyone in front of him after he had beat the lineal champion Michael Spinks whom Spinks was fresh off beating the great and lineal champion Larry Holmes twice.

Mike Tyson was truly the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. Also, he was the pound for pound number 1 overall then in 1988/1989.

In AJ's comparison, he beat a well past-prime Wladimir Klitschko at best. And a prime AJ lost to Usyk twice, lost to Ruiz, and also never fought the other champions of his time in Fury and Wilder.

I do like Parker these days, he has massively improved but he was very green then, this was before he lost to Whyte and Joyce. Povetkin was well past his prime, Ruiz wasn't even that good to be honest, whenever Whyte stepped up a level he would get knocked out cold, Pulev wouldn't even be ranked in the top 50 in Mike Tyson's era.

It’s not just about names on paper, you have to look at the quality of performance too. Tyson’s victory over Holmes is somewhat analogous to Joshua’s victory against Klitschko. Older long time reigning champ coming off 1.5 years inactivity after losing their title. Except Tyson easily dominated Holmes and knocked him out cold inside 4 rounds where Joshua went life and death.

Anthony Joshuas best win over Wladimir Klitschko is better than Mike Tysons best win of Michael Spinks

    That's where it ends

As far as depth goes Mike Tyson has a massive advantage

Holmes, Ruddock x2, Bruno x2, Tubbs, Spinks, Tucker, Berbick, Pinklon, Seldon, Bonecrusher, Carl Williams, Tillis, Botha > Wlad, Parker, Povetkin, Whyte, Pulev, Wallin, Martin, Helenius, Ruiz, Breazele, Takam, Ngannou, Franklin imo. Especially when you take into account that Tyson steamrolled guys a lot more regularly than AJ did.

Looking at it like that, Holmes was also coming off a layoff and was on a two fight losing streak.

Boxing fans love Mike Tyson and they can't see the fact he was extremely over rated, almost a Wilder like Resume.

AJ fought in an era where has failed to fight either of the other top 2 HWs.

I mean that is an impressive achievement in itself.

And is he fights one now its a post prime cash grab, so it really does not add to his legacy whatsoever.

We also all know what would happen had these 2 fought prime for prime. Iron Mike WKO.

He is somewhat overrated by casuals but Wilder like resume is harsh. Theres got to be at least 5 guys Mike beat who were better than anyone Wilder beat outside of Ortiz, and probably a few better than Ortiz too.
