Call em! As I see it... Byrd I Povetkin Haye Ibragimov Chagaev Byrd II McCline (he was on a good roll!) Thompson I Peter I Chambers Rahmen, Mercer and Brewster were very good names, but I think washed by the time he got to them. I thought about Peter II and Thompson II. Also considered Pulev.
I wish i could count Povetkin as a "win". Should have been a disqualification loss for Wlad. But yes, i agree with your list. Seconded.
Would you like to suggest a replacement fight? I intend to do a final tally of answers, so your vote matters. It you think it should have been a DQ, then it should have been a DQ.
If you bump Povetkin off, replace the 10th spot with Brewster. Yes, Brewster was past it but he was dangerous and it is the only loss he avenged. So a #10 spot for Brewster makes sense. Byrd I Haye Ibragimov Chagaev Byrd II McCline (he was on a good roll!) Thompson I Peter I Chambers Brewster
Tallies so far... Byrd I 2 Haye 2 Ibragimov 2 Chagaev 2 Byrd II 2 McCline 2 Thompson I 2 Peter I 2 Chambers 2 Povetkin 1 Brewster 1
For my money: 1.) Byrd II 2.) Pulev 3.) Chagaev 4.) Eddie Chambers 5.) Povetkin 6.) Peter II 7.) McCline 8.) Haye 9.) Brewster II 10.) Byrd I The biggest knock on Wlad is that he didn't have any win that I would classify as being a signature, all time great victory, the way Ali, Foreman, Dempsey etc. do But what he does have going for him is an abundance of very nice wins good contenders
Brewster II is like Lucas Browne beating Chaggy Dillian Whyte beating Povetkin Cooney beating Norton Holmes beating Ali Briggs - Mercer etc Even Biko Botowamungu was a better win than half blind , medically unfit to box Brewster 2
Byrd I 4 Haye 4 Chambers 4 McCline 4 Chagaev 4 Byrd II 4 Ibragimov 3 Thompson I 3 Peter I 3 Povetkin 3 Brewster 2 Pulev 1 Peter II 1 Thanks everybody. A top 10 emerging!
Jennings Pulev Povetkin Thompson Haye Chambers Ibragimov Brock Byrd I Peter I Combined 3 defeats in among all of these. Wlad took a lot of "O"'s.
Byrd I 5 Haye 5 Chambers 5 McCline 4 Chagaev 4 Byrd II 4 Ibragimov 4 Thompson I 4 Peter I 4 Povetkin 4 Brewster 2 Pulev 2 Peter II 1 Jennings 1 Brock 1
Byrd I Povetkin Haye Ibragimov Chagaev Pulev McCline Thompson I Peter I Chambers Trying to figure out where to put Brock but realized I already have 10 names. Lot of prime opponents.
Byrd I 6 Haye 6 Chambers 6 McCline 5 Chagaev 5 Ibragimov 5 Thompson I 5 Peter I 5 Povetkin 5 Byrd II 4 Brewster 2 Pulev 3 Peter II 1 Jennings 1 Brock 1
