    Usyk post fight:

"Listen, today for me is a very happy day. Because my both guys, my sons, today win competition too, in the judo. My son Kyrylo and my son Mykhalio take judo belt orange and green. My son, talk to me: ‘Hey, Papa. You next.’ I say, ‘OK, I’m trying.’”

Another generation of badasses coming through.

Congratulations to The Lineal Heavyweight Champion of the World, Oleksandr Usyk, for his well deserved, successful defense of his Lineal Title! The better fighter won! And congrats to all, who picked Oleksandr to win again! I scored it exactly the same as the 3 judges, 116-112.

A well deserved 116-112 win across all 3 Cards for Usyk. Better work although maybe 115-113 but still the same cleansweep.

The fast feet of Usyk won v the slow plodding feet of Fury. Fury, as I posted yesterday, was carrying too much weight. He looked awfully flabby and it was interesting to see his shorts almost up to his chin.

Is it time that we acknowledge Usyk as The Greatest Heavyweight of All Time?

Nobody, except Father Time, will beat him.

Never ever thought I'd be writing this but the unbeaten pretend boxer Tommy Fury is now carrying the family name. :D

At least it now means it is almost the end of the annoying insufferable John Fury during fight week.

AJ v Fury next summer in Fury's retirement fight.

Not based on any perception of fatal deterioration on Fury’s part, but I’d at least like to see what Fury can do against AJ.

Fury is one of those guys whose hypothetical advantage is talked up so much, some seem to believe that he’s actually had the “imagined”fight for a material victory to boost his “imaginary” resume.

Not addressing any of this at you of course but yeah, let’s see them in the ring together for an actual, material complexion and outcome.

Really don’t need to hear Fury’s same ol’, protracted bombastic BS about what he “thinks” and says he’ll do to AJ.

Just get in the ring and prove it or ride off into the sunset with his ass on an ass.

A lot of judges are hesitant to use the 9-9 score because they receive a lot of flack. As you have stated, most people don't even know of the 9-9 option for the type of round you have excellently described.

One of the judges for Paul Briggs vs. Jesus Ruiz scored a round 9-9. I was with him after the fight when Ruiz's people accused him of corruption etc. He politely explained his score for the round and how he got to it, which he didn't have to do. There was no appeasing one member of Ruiz camp he just kept howling on...basically because he had no idea that a round could be judged 9-9.

Close rounds can be a thing but I would think that competent judges should be able to, that much more often than not, distinguish between the winner and loser of a round with reasonable deference to scoring criteria.

Of course I’m not suggesting that judges “force”’their scoring - meaning, not having to feel like they have to pick a clear winner and loser for legitimately close, hard to call rounds.

It just “seems” that the concept of multiple close rounds in fights is becoming more prevalent in order to flip the official scoring and argue a win or closer fight for the losing party.

At least this one was a UD, just as the first fight should’ve also been in Usyk’s favour.

It was a good, competitive fight but the winner was not in doubt.

Fury, coming in heavy and absorbing a lot of shots to the body, faded down the stretch.

Usyk typically starts slow, adjusts and then finishes strong.

I don't think Fury looked bad. He had his moments. Usyk is just a special fighter.

I'm an Australian who is in awe of Opetaia, but he will lose to Usyk if they fight. He is fast but he won't have success with his approach against a boxer like Usyk, who will counter him. He also fades drastically, which will be a big problem against Usyk.

I'm not against the fight, but I have doubts about how competitive it will be.

I love how Fury said at the post-fight presser "I got Larry Holmes'ed." :)

Holmes did indeed arguably get the short end of the stick from Vegas judges after both his Spinks fights... but Fury got a fair shake from the judges on both Usyk fights. Both were great and close fights... but Usyk earned the edge.

Wanna know who got robbed? Poor Dave Allen, by judges in the tank for Johnny Fisher's $$ backers. I could have accepted a draw.... but giving the fight to Fisher??! Do boxing commissions or other governing bodies still do investigations? Or is that a quaint, ship-has-sailed notion...? :pipi

    IT's a 10-9 round. it's 10 point must, only way to get a 9-9 is a point deduction

Hagler should have got the nod against Leonard. GGG beat Canelo twice without much doubt ij my mind. The second fight was closer, but that dies not somehow give Canelo the win when he, as the challenger got beaten pillar to post and then got a draw because he has a good chin.
