Hopefully Warren makes this fight next year if Dubois beats Parker. Itauma has until May 17th 2025 to become the youngest heavyweight champion. Probably not enough time left sadly.

People can talk about experience all they want, but Itauma is a special talent and everyone will realize it in 2025.

That blend of speed, skill, power and fluidity at 250 lbs is something nobody else has at heavyweight.

I hope Itauma has a good career but he's not ready right now

Hrgovic beat McKean, and Dubois beat Hrgovic. How does beating McKean do anything to suggest he can fight a Dubois right now?

It's not just about the win over McKean (who he handled 10x easier than Hrgovic did regardless).

I'm looking at the fluidity, the speed, the footwork, feints etc. along with devastating power. This isn't a regular prospect. There's a reason why he was already sparring top heavyweights at 15/16 years old.

We'll see what happens next year.

    Wow that's a big statement.
I mean he just had his first step up fight and win it convincingly in under two minutes.
That doesn't actually tell us anything about him though really. How does he do when he's faced with someone he can't bulldoze and bully, someone who won't step backwards and give him the room he needs, someone who actually hits him and makes him dig deep?
Bakolie comes to mind as someone who might be a good measuring stick to see how he reacts to some of the above. When he's beaten someone like that, or at least faced some adversity in the ring, well then I'll jump on the hype train.
This fight was great for him, and he can only face what's out in front of him, but realistically we have no idea where he's at or what his ceiling is because he's yet to be meaningfully tested.

Maybe one day. I think he looks good, but there's still stuff I wanna see before I hop on the bandwagon. Dude hasn't been tested at all yet.

Right now it would be a huge step up for Itauma, McKean is basically a good journeymen, he isn't any type of contender, so on paper DDD is the massive favourite. We've not seen Itauma deal with adversity before, who knows if he can dig deep or just crumbles when he's in a competitive fight for the first time. Maybe throw him in with Allen, who if we're honest beat Fisher on the undercard, tough durable and still a bit dangerous and could test Itauma's mettle.

It would be a huge gamble for Warren to throw him in with DDD so soon but it would also be potentially lucrative, because Itauma clearly hits very hard so an upset isn't out of the question and if he pulls it off the hype around him would go through the roof and Warren may have a cash cow that draws big because of the achievement of becoming the youngest heavyweight champion.

Can't see Warren doing it unless he really believes Itauma can do it. Then again if the Saudi's want it and throw money at it, it might very well happen.

I saw that we will see Itauma V Adeleye for the British title soon. Itauma was faultless against McKean tonight but I think Adeleye will be a tougher fight, he will come to fight and won't go down anywhere as easily.

I wouldn't underestimate the jump between McKean and Dubois.

This is a good journeyman to a champion literally.

Give Itauma some gatekeepers and contenders, to develop and gain experience and make him prove he deserves a title shot first.

Itauma is still too green for Dubois, but in the future it could be different, Itauma is too young and his career should be gradually built and not pushed into the fire too soon, he has plenty of time...
