Nigel Benn vs Ezzard Charles @ super middleweight

Could Nigel Benn beat a guy who had 3 wins over a peak Archie Moore and is recognised as the top 3 all time at 175? It feels dirty to have these guys mentioned in the same sentence together.

 

Charles was still only 169 lb here according to boxrec. I think the best Benn can hope for is a KD.

I am legit confident that Charles would make Benn look like they dont even belong in the same ring together. It would be a stoppage if Charles desires, if Charles feels merciful then it is just a UD.

This is on point for @InMemoryofJakeLamotta (I don’t care Jake, not a shot at you lol) he just sort of pulls the names out of a hat? Ezzard Charles might be the most dangerous fighter to ever step in the ring at 175lbs… but at least he isn’t afraid to start discussions, who knows maybe someone can build a compelling case for Benn or at least try to, it’d give us something to think about.
