Primo and Valuev were worse.

Fury knocked out WilderX2 and Whyte, so not that bad. No one has legit dropped Usyk, so no big deal here.

 

The speed and technique thing for both Primo and Valuev. Also, it's not as easy to punch downward as you might think...even Lennox has talked about it.

 

I mean, it is still possible, but there is a slight impediment there if the guy is too small, especially if he knows how to make himself smaller by fighting out of a crouch.

 

No way. Valuev makes him look like Julian Jackson in power/size ratio

 

I'd suggest that Fury's volatile lifestyle has probably taken a toll on his physical attributes, especially since the Ngannou fight.

 

Which is why Fury was compromised by 'Sugar Hill' and his snake oil. He was never going to be a KO artist and he took big damage trying to be one.

From the beginning it was known Fury was a pure boxer and not a huge puncher. The British commentators would compare him to Price and note how they handled the same journeymen.

I think it's partly because some fool made him fight orthodox when he's actually left handed, which is why his RH looks kind of weird and clumsy I think, it's not natural to throw with the other arm.

But regardless, he doesn't have huge power for his size, but he still has stopping power due to his size. His power is not much different to Vitali though, who struggled to stop basically everyone. Vitali is more ridiculous because he tried to call himself Dr Ironfist to match his brother but has way less power. At least Fury called himself '2Fast2Furious'.
