I don't see Bonevana,Lyle,Quarry or any of them winning. It will come down to the 4. Which Foreman are we talking about? Are we talking about Post Ali foreman who was trying to be a conservative boxer puncher? or Pure Slugger Foreman that would cut off the ring and throw everything he had? Usyk is not beating Slugger Foreman. Ali didn't "Rope-a-Dope" because it was a strategy, it is becuase he realized he coudln't run away. If Ali can't,Usyk can't. And Usyk is not taking an 8 round body pounding before George gasses. The question is if Usyk can complain to the referee about a low blow to get some time to rest or if George kills him first. - KO in 3 Frazier's only loss is to the big guy. Usyk Doesn't have the power to KO him I don't think, even though Bonevana knocked him down twice. Frazier gets inside and pounds away. It either goes to the cards where joe edges it, or Joe knocks him out in the late rounds. Norton I would say loses. I think Norton was a pretty overrated fighter to be honest. Ali on the other hand is tricky. 70s Ali , Usyk beats I think because he wasnt a technically good fighter. He kept his fast hands but he lost his legs. Ali in the 60s smokes Usyk. Did Cooper knock Ali down? yeah.....But Ali got right back up and walked to his corner, so he wasn't completly done. He fought Sonny Liston blind for a round or 2. Usyk just doesn't touch him unfortunatly. Ali by UD
He would either be the best, or among the best The true greats can hang in any era If all the great heavies could fight, nobody retires undefeated, but usyk would do extremely well.in any era
Sorry but he would've beat Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, Norton, Young, Quarry, and Bonavena...No issues against those guys. Usyk's movement, speed, accuracy and southpaw stance would bewilder these guys...
He'd beat Foreman quite easily I think, but struggle with Frazier's pressure style. Ali is a toss up; I'd go with Usyk as Ali was beatable in that timeframe and his legs weren't quite up to scratch anymore. Norton might give him some trouble. The rest he beats, including the one dimensional Holmes. BTW, this is assuming a prime Usyk, not the ring worn version we've currently got.
When you say Usyk in the 70s does that mean he is simply inserted into the 70s? or Does it mean that he has the same conditions with training and nutrition in the 70s? Cause then obviously hes not weighing in at 228 in the 70s As far as how he would do in the 70s if he was just inserted in he loses to FOTC Joe Fraizer (Bad style for Usyk imo) but beats the rest.
Worse. Only because Usyk always did worse against smaller cruiserweights and heavyweights and Shawn Porter and Artur Beterbiev were his toughest amateur fights. Somebody like prime Smokin Joe Frazier is on a whole other level than Derek Chisora who he struggled with. Someone like Ken Norton is on a whole other level than Mairis Briedis who he went life and death with.
Good enough to beat all the top guys, but some stylistic matchups are interesting. Pure boxers like Usyk tend to look bad against other pure boxers. A matchup vs a prime Holmes would probably be his biggest challenge as both are just hell to pin down and Larry had a quick right hand.
