Fight of the year 2024

From the listed fights, my pick would be Teraji vs Canizales. Although another fight which deserves to be mentioned is Ford vs Kholmatov.

 

Out of the fights listed I would say Vergil Ortiz Jr vs Serhii Bohachuk. 2024 was an excellent year for amazing fights.

It was pretty one sided but AJ V Dubois had me on the edge of my seat as well.

 

Usyk vs Fury 1

When Usyk landed the left hook that rocked Fury and nearly stopped him, I haven’t felt that excited watching a boxing match in a long time.

 

That was an exciting fight, but it was also a slaughter.

 

Exactly, I immediately remembered on Kholmatov vs Ford over Ball vs Ford.

 

Altough fighter of the year is Usyk and I felt the strongest emotions through Usyk vs Fury 1 (super quality fight), I have to say Bivol vs Beterbiev is number one.

Bivol vs Beterbiev was the most top top quality fight I saw in years. That's a fight which could be in a "the best fight of the decade poll". The reason why is that it was a clash of two guys and both have an all time great skills (I do not say they are ATG boxers, not yet), but it was just toe to toe.... You know fight is great when 50 percent of fans say right decision and another 50 % say "robbery".

 

I voted for Usyk Fury 1
I really enjoyed Opetaia Breidis 2 and on the local scene Nikita Tszyu v Koen Mazoudier was a hell of a fight in Sydney.

AJ vs Dubois deserved to be on the list.

 

Jason Moloney vs Saul Sanchez is an underrated fight, an incredibly exciting phone-booth brawl. It definitely deserves to be in contention for FOTY imo. Ryosuke Nishida vs Manny Rodriguez was also a very fun scrap. Yudai Shigeoka vs Melvin Jerusalem was a really good fight too.
