OK, so, reading this forum.. AJ is a fraud, Fury wasn't all that, Dubois is a joke, Chisora is a gatekeeper, Belew is a bum etc... Now, I don't agree with all of that, but I do feel that Usyk 'legacy' at HW is light. His best wins for me are the two over Fury who I rate very highly, but I don't have him, or Fury, as top ten heavyweights.

And Foreman might’ve gone something like 1-4 against Usyk’s last five opponents.

Lewis and Wladmir were a lot more dominant than Usyk and have way more notable ranked opponents on their record. Tyson shredded through the division like a hurricane becoming undisputed and KOing multiple skilled fighters who were all taller/heavier. Foreman and Frazier have elite signature wins.

You've got an uphill battle ahead of you claiming Usyk's already done enough to be place above those fighters. I can however see an argument for placing Usyk above Vitali, Holmes, and Holyfield, but even that's a tough discussion honestly.

    Overrated

The way he telegraphed lunging in at Fury only worked because Fury is super slow

AJ and Fury...their best opponent by far was Klitschko who is a pretty big step down from Lewis as far as "levels" are concerned

He is good, he has beat good opponents, but none involved are ATG level, people need to calm down

Lol I stopped entertaining his and noneck's obsession. Their parasocial relationship with Foreman is seriously concerning at this point.

Not sure what threads you've been reading, but Dubois has been given a lot of praise for his resurgence in his past few fights. People rightfully questioned his heart after his loss to Joyce and the way he weakly submitted to Usyk. But nowadays Dubois has found the fire within him and has been in a rampage looking very impressive.

Chisora is a gatekeeper, but he's skilled enough to keep you honest with his rough high volume swarming style. You could say he's this era's Berbick/Bert Cooper/Chuvalo type.

I have Fury in my top 20 h2h. Make no mistake, the guy made many mistakes with his career, has said many stupid things, and failed to fulfill his potential, but he's still a skilled 6'8, 260+ fighter who knows how to jab, move, switch stances, and has decent head movement for such a big guy. There aren't any fighters alive or dead who'd have an easy night's work with a prime, focused Fury.

Joshua was heavily overrated by modernists at first, but did alright for himself. He was a decent HW with good power, body shots, and fundamentals but had many issues on the defensive/endurance end of things.

All of these were decent wins no matter how you slice it considering Usyk was giving up anywhere from 25-50 lbs each time, that he lacks destructive power, and all these opponents had world class experience and/or belts at the time.

I'm convinced at this point NoNeck lost a bet on the Moorer fight and he's been butthurt since then making it his mission to tarnish his legacy.

I agree with everything you say. I think Fury is a great fighter, I picked Dubois to beat AJ, who I think was a decent fighter but not in Usyk or Fury's level. My point was that those, and there seem to be plenty of them, who now slag off Fury, AJ, Dubois etc cannot, as many seem to, claim Usyk as an ATG...I wrote elsewhere that Usyk has become a Schrodinger's champ, simultaneously brilliant and shite depending on what argument someone is trying to 'win'. For me, his two wins over Fury cement him as the best of his generation but don't give him top ten ATG status.

Under appreciated point in my opinion. This shouldn't get the brush off as easily as it did.

Are Joshua and Wilder still part of the big 3? With their recent losses I thought Kabayel and Dubois might be ahead

From the year 1900 until now, there's no heavyweight era where Usyk would not be in the top 10 or even top 5. One may say that he wouldn't beat Joe Louis or Larry Holmes, I get that, but whether in 1900 or 1990, Usyk would always be a top 10 fighter.

Wait... Tunney and Walcott are supposed to be ATG heavyweights?

Excuse me while I guffaw through the holiday break.

Head to head, Usyk clowns all those listed. Maybe Dempsey has a chance for a few rounds.

Legacy-wise, let's see if he fights again. Otherwise, Johnson and Dempsey are incredibly important to the history of the sport. Hard to topple them with only really good victories.
