Usyk is only behind Floyd Mayweather in the last 20 years, surpassing Manny Pacquiao

Whatever anymore says Crawford beat my guy Erroll Spence Jr decisively, he stopped Showtime Shawn Porter and beat Madrimov so I don’t want to hear any nonsense about who he has fought. He will likely beat Canelo as well and certainly has the skills to beat him.

Pacquiao'a performance against Barrera is by far the best performance on either man's resume. And I like Usyk a lot. But Pacquiao is obviously the greater fighter.

Beating Barrera is better than beating Fury? I don't think so. In any case Margarito is Pacs best win.

Usyk himself says Terence Crawford his friend a bad man is P4P the number 1 in the world.

I think Pacquiao's win over a near prime Barrera when he was top 3 P4P is significantly better than any win Usyk has had. Taking into account how dominant the win was and the fact that Barrera is considered an ATG.

Usyk's achievements are very good for beating considerably bigger fighters but he hasn't beaten one fighter that is considered great IMO. Where as Pacquiao has multiple wins against great fighters and even a few that are considered ATGs.

Huck was shop-worn as Oscar yet didn't have the massive size advantage Oscar did, yet this held up as one of Usyk's best wins at the weight. Bellew was also on his way out. Gassiev is overrated imo and relies too heavily on his power, he was soundly outboxed and mae to look wholly inept against Usyk who shut him out, and he struggled against the much smaller and older Lebedev. Briedis is a very good win, I won't disparage it at all, Briedis is an excellent fighter but I don't think he's as good or accomplished as a guy like Tim Bradley. Glowacki is a decent win for a young Usyk but he had just been life and death with a 40-y/o Cunningham in his previous fight. Are the cruisers Usyk beat underrated by casuals? Yes, they are. Does that make them any greater or any more accomplished? No, no it doesn't. The cruisers Usyk beat were the best generation of cruisers in boxing history quite probably. That doesn't say a lot since cruiser is a notoriously thin division historically but it does mean he still beat a very strong division. Conversely, a lot of Pacquiao's wins early in his career at 112 and 122 are underrated. But to compare the more average cruisers Usyk beat like Hunter, Mchunu, or Bellew to some of the more average fighter Pac beat such as Broner, Commey, or Jorge Julio, we can still see a pretty clear discrepancy in class imo. You can pick holes in anybody's resume of course, but with May and Pac there are more holes to be poked compared to Usyk if that makes sense. I'm sorry, but both Pac and Floyd's resumes sh!t on Usyk's as much as I like the guy and no matter how many the time posters here bloviate about his size disadvantages, all the underrated Eastern Europeans he bested, or how virtuous and noble he is won't convince me that he is a greater fighter than Mayweather or Pacquiao.

His wins vs Cotto, Hatton and Margarito etc were also insane

Pacquiao was a one of a kind

Yes. Pound for pound was invented, to say that guy……….was the best, irrespective of weight.

So: Despite only being a WW, Robinson is classed as the GOAT, based upon his incredible skill set and his resume.

Regarding fantasy fights, I debate them on a weekly basis. Of course it’s all subjective, but we can make educated guesses based upon how they’d realistically have matched up on the night stylistically.

However, I personally draw the line at imagining fighters being different sizes. That’s me personally. Because to me, that’s even more of a fantasy.

I can’t envisage how Floyd Mayweather would be if he’d have been 6’3, or how Usyk would fight if he was 5’8.

When you start changing the dimensions of the fighters, you’ve gone too far. But that’s just my opinion.

I can only view the fighters as they actually are/were.

    What are you talking about?

I don’t think that we’ve even debated before.

    1. I was a huge fan of Andre’s.

    2. He did not beat a murderous list of opponents.

Usyk has a superior resume to Andre.

    Andre’s resume:

    Kessler
    Dawson
    Froch
    Kovalev x 2
    Green
    Miranda
    Abraham
    Bika

    Usyk’s resume:

    Glawacki
    Hunter
    Huck
    Breidis
    Gassiev
    Bellew
    Chisora
    Dubois
    AJ x 2
    Fury x 2

Andre was a fine fighter. Again, I was a huge fan of his. However, those resumes aren’t even close.

    You seem very argumentative.

    I’m a fan of Terrence.

But you rank guys on ability and resumes more than anything else.

Terrence is a great fighter, and he’s had some fine wins.

However, he’s another guy who has an inferior resume to Usyk.

It’s not his fault of course. He can only fight whoever is available. But at the moment, you can’t rank him higher than Usyk.
