This is too simplistic for my taste.

By your logic, Foreman should have wrecked Ali. Barkley should have smashed Duran.

Too many examples to count, really.

Moorer doesn’t have anything stylistically that’d pose Fury more issues than Usyk, I’m taking styles into account here.

He's Southpaw and Fury has struggled vs Southpaws like Usyk and Wallin. He's a skillful smaller Heavyweight Fury has had issues vs smaller Heavyweights like Cunningham, Usyk, etc who both scored knockdowns. He has the power to hurt Fury who's been floored almost 10 times in his career.

He does have qualities to trouble Fury.

He has attributes to trouble Fury, but nothing Usyk doesn’t have, yes he has more power, but Fury isn’t getting knocked out against Moorer.
The southpaw stance, Usyk had, the speed between Usyk and Moorer is similar, Usyk has faster feet to close the distance and has more tricks up his sleeve.

    Why are people favouring Moorer?

He got KTFO by an incarnation of Methusala FFS.

The hate for Fury has really begun to build.

You may not like him as a person but at his very best he was a special heavyweight.

Perhaps people should watch him in black and white. Then his all time status would jump about 10 places with some.

Moorer has considerably more power than Usyk and Usyk virtually TKO'ed Fury in the 9th of their 1st fight.

I'm not saying Fury isn't the favourite but it's not a foregone conclusion either Moorer does have attributes to trouble Fury.

I think Moorer might have been a slightly better fighter but Fury’s colossal size advantage would be a major hindrance. Michael could punch but Fury’s chin was well proven and he wouldn’t be the only southpaw Tyson ever favored either. I think Moorer most likely gets stopped late

Perhaps people don’t hate him but simply don’t see the special fighter you do. I’m not bashing the guy, but he does not strike me as some ATG. Much like Moorer, he was a good & capable fighter, but too flawed for the annals of history.

I picked Moorer but it is a touch & go selection I wouldn’t put a dime on. & I have a contrarian streak. You’d get decent odds if everyone before I posted was picking Moorer, I’d have voted for Fury

I mean he got knocked down by Francis Ngannou. Motivated in shape version or not that is a chin issue and its always going to be there.

Let Fury close out his career against more higher ranked opponents like the way Wilder did and lets see what he does. He's been fighting fluff for a while before fighting Usyk and arguably lost his last 3 fights. His stock is on the verge of falling all the way off a cliff. Soon it might not be just Michael Moorer he'll have to worry about.
