Why is Bud's name brought up in a thread discussing "the most charismatic boxer"....... Everyone knows Crawford isn't going to 'tap dance' for the cameras and media.

It's weird that he's on the mind even on subjects that has nothing to do with him. Maybe that's a form of being charasmatic.....lol

As far as a boxer of whom I cannot take my eyes off of, it's Seniesa Estrada. But she just retired.

Bar the obvious examples like Ali, Old George, Leonard:

Kenny Norton sure was damn charming to the ladies. The star athlete kind of charm. Tex Cobb was meant to be on TV, and surprisingly, I found Sonny Liston surprisingly charismatic in his own anti-hero way, especially when he says: 'whatever you do, do your best, and be the best at it.' Just a lot of ambiguous pieces creating mystery about the guy.

Why is this even a question ?

    It is soooooo ****ing obvious.....

It's like asking who was the greatest Physicist of the first quarter of the twentieth century.

Or asking who was the greatest General of the fourth century BC.

Or asking who was the greatest composer of the 18th century.

Why is this even a question ?

Of course, Maxie Baer, how could I forget him?

Just based on charisma and the healthy injection it gave to the sport of boxing, Maxie is very hard to beat.

Buddy was cool too but really, he was no more than Maxie’s side kick, happy to go along for the ride. :D

For pure charisma, Chisora is a good mention for modern fighters.

Let me cast a vote for Bruce "The Mouse" Strauss. Anyone who saw him take over the David Letterman show will understand.

For pure Gladiator charisma, Tyson would deserve consideration, but I'd roll with Marvelous Marvin Hagler.

It's almost not fair to put Ali in the discussion because he transcended the sport so much it's almost like boxing was a secondary role.
