Usyk is probably the most SKILLED heavyweight of all time. Other tangibles are invovled, but skill wise, he's there.
Doubtful, Bowe had to push a fight to be effective & was often troubled with fighters who presented him with motion, which is what Usyk would have done & Usyk had enough power & physical strength to deal with Bowe on the inside, a no brainer really.
This would be a difficult fight for Usyk as Bowe is not just a big man but a big man with skills who knows what to do especially with the jab, uppercut, combinations and inside. I remember when Bowe was 25 and the late great Eddie Futch who would know as he trained both men said at the same age Bowe was better than the great Larry Holmes. If pushed I would say Bowe as he is the wrong opponent for Usyk.
C'mon, man. Enough of this BS. Usyk takes him to slick school. Too fast, too slick, too skilful, too elusive, too fit, too determined and too tough to come unstuck when the much bigger man Bowe does manage to land clean with some of his big shots. Usyk has never been knocked out in over 370 fights amateur and pro combined nor dropped with a headshot despite having fought a murderer's row of savage punching KO artists and legit bangers not only his size but way bigger and he was four months shy of turning 35 when he won his first belt at HW So all you Usyk has reduced us to nothing but hypothetical match ups against fighters and greats from previous eras to try and discredit him Salty Sally's and Brainwashed Bertha's need to remember that because there is only a tiny tiny few we can say that about, including damn near al of the ATGs.
Great fight. Could see this being a trilogy. Scoring a win each. Usyk should prevail over the 3 bouts, more disciplined and lives the life.
Bowe beats Usyk, just like he beat Holyfield. Holyfield is every bit as skilled as Usyk, and hits harder. If it weren't for the disruption of fan man, Bowe would likely be 3-0 against prime Holyfield. Bowe is a much more dangerous fighter than fat boy Tyson Fury.
Holyfield hits harder and Bowe walked through him, I'd bet he would do the same with Usyk who is less powerful.
Usyk by decision in a hard fought fight. Usyk will mix fighting on the front foot and the back foot. Holyfield may have had a good punch but Bowe could read his punches and thus brace himself for the impact. Usyk's left hand is something Bowe could not read and as such, Usyk will hurt him with his straight left. Bowe will land some great body shots and uppercuts and win some rounds but ultimately, Usyk is too skilled, too smart and too slick. Usyk 8-4 UD.
Really? What fighters with motion did Lewis step in the ring with? Last I saw Bowe knocked Holyfield out and dominated and dropped him in their first fight. Lewis went 24 rounds with an inferior version of Holyfield and never dominated him the way Bowe did. Who are these great movers Lewis fought? Briggs? Morrison? Mercer? Vitali? Tua? Maybe Bruno lol. In reality Lewis never fought any good movers. There is a reason for that.
This is the fight that came to my mind. At the time, a lot of people felt Tubbs won it and now, of course now, the narrative has developed that Bowe won a close but clear win, but that was not the feeling at the time. And Tubbs was painfully slow compared to Usyk, although that was one of his best fights.
Usyk for me. Bowe is too easy to hit and too slow of foot to deal with the movement and elusiveness of Usyk.
