Yes, yes, yes and 1000000x yes. It was an absolutely disgusting performance from Wlad, he should have been DQed 4-5 times.
Yeah people are honestly underestimating Wlads work here.. I understand it, as it was a bit much with the clinching, but he really was hammering Povetkin even with all the clinching… some of the damn jabs he smacked him with would have knocked down a lesser fighter, lol.
This content is protected This is a video showing every clinch and dirty tactic by wladimir klitschko. Wladimir clinched povetkin about 180 times, which is significantly higher than the amount of times he punched him. He absolutely should’ve been disqualified and the referee should’ve been fired for protecting him. If you actually bothered to watch the video you’d realise the idea that Alexander was just as guilty of clinching as klitschko is complete nonsense. Wladimir pulled his head down and leaned his weight on him literally every time he tried to close the distance. Povetkin almost never initiated a clinch, and he’s the only one who actually tried to fight in the clinch.
If the rules had been applied, Klitschko should have taken a point deduction in the first rounds and not in the 11th. He would therefore have boxed differently so as not to be disqualified.
I do agree that before the DQ there should have been warnings and if not followed then absolutely DQ.
Yo, I'm always serious. Serious about deez nuts. All things considered, actually voting on the poll is a little Sophie's Choice, for me.
Exactly it's funny how it seems people didn't watch the fight but instead they made up their minds off of twitter or some stupid take off a Russian website. The fight was ugly and neither of them were willing to abandon their gameplan and give the other an opportunity to land something big. They both grappled a lot Povetkin was charging in with his head down while trying to get out of range of Wlad. For Wladamir's part he knew he was winning at range and that Povetkin really didn't really want to work too hard on the inside. Just wanted to survive to hear the final bell.
Nah. Take a point away. Warn him. Take another point if it continues, this time warning a dq. It was no different than Ali constantly holding a guys head down from the neck.
BE comes through in the clutch with the late holiday gift of a post. Exquisite stuff and I could not hope to express this sentiment as well in a million years of posting on this site. Of course, in a million years, I'd likely have forgotten how to form words, or how to draw breath into my lungs for that matter. Still, an incredible post. Well done.
I thought the same thing yrs ago if akinwande hugged Lewis for dear life then wlad did worst against povetkin
DQs happen after warnings and point deductions but those things never happened...so he kept holding. Just corrupt officiating. Wlad wouldve held less w normal refs so who knows how things wouldve played out but my hunch is Wlad raises his hands still
