Mexico is the UNDISPUTED champion when it comes to producing TOUGH fighters. It's not even a contest IMO.

Wasnt Barrera a lawyer? True mostly poor people box but thats every country but even then Mexico produces the toughest

If you compare Mexico's GDP wich is over a trillion with other countries such as Argentina PR Phillipines its not even close

Fenech for one. Of that era, also Barry Michaels and Lester Ellis were pretty darn tough.

Recently, most Australian fighters have been pretty tough. Paul Briggs was in several wars (Adamek I and II). Danny Green was tough as teak (watch his sparring sessions against the heavyweight incarnation of James Toney). Michael Katsidis has been in the odd one or two hell for leather battles. Kostya was pretty tough. Darchinian is pretty tough.

But then Australia has a few on the other end of the spectrum. Mundine, for example, is pretty chinny (as was his dad). Glen Kelly didn't have the best beard.

Having said all that, I think Australian fighters are generally pretty tough. We don't have trainers who can really teach skills --at least compared with the Eastern Europeans and Yanks -- so they have to get by on being tough.

** although the Mexicans are the toughest IMHO**

I am Puerto Rican and I think that our fighters have a ton of heart and overall better skilled, but Mexicans are the toughest sons of bitches on earth.

    Honorable mention to Irish fighters.

If I needed to break down a door and didn't have a battering ram I'd want an Argentinian boxers head. Those guys are ridiculously tough.

First Mexico/Ghana, Mexican/Americans, Puerto Rican/Americans, I know these two categories are not countries but their one of the great majorities in the sport.
    Africa in general.
    Central America
    European countries.

Australia has imported boxers! Current Australians don't box. The biggest hype that came out of Australia of recent date is Billy Dibb.
