The hype is very strong with this one. A beyond shot former-gatekeeper and a journeyman is a good start for a fighter as young as Itauma... But there's a very, very long way to go - and Whyte is both less shot than Wach was against Itauma and was levels upon levels better in his prime than Wach. I'm so, so sick of people overhyping prospects to an absurd level.
Moses isn't even that hyped. It's just Whyte fan boys pretending he'd be able to beat the likes of Wardley and Moses.
I was referring to Whyte as overhyped, and Wardley. Moses needs to go on a tear through the lot of them and see if he has the full package. Whyte, Wardley, Del, Adelaye, all beatable but all MIGHT check his chin. I think he goes through them all...
Moses isn't even that hyped?! When people are putting him way up the rankings and asking about him H2H with Usyk and other legit contenders... When he hasn't actually beaten his first proper (not zombified) gatekeeper yet? You cannot be serious, surely?? Whyte is most certainly declined, but he was a legit contender a couple of years back and even now is objectively much better than anyone Itauma has been in with... Nothing fanboy about it, Itauma just has far, far more to prove than you're giving him credit for.
Whyte fanboy. It’s not our fault you don’t know what you’re looking at. This thread will prove who knows boxing and who doesn’t after a little time. It doesn’t make me or others boxing geniuses for pointing out the obvious but it sure does prove you know **** all. the fact you need to see the wins to make a stance proves you can’t spot talent. Clown.
Whyte looked done last time out - can't imagine him in high level matches really at this point. I say make Itauma vs Miller next. 1 rung below top tier, and will definitely give him rounds. A great barometer of whether he is ready for the top tier or not.
A wee bit harsh I think. Itauma is certainly very "hyped", it's not necessarily bad or wrong. In fact, it's kinda natural given he's clearly got talent. He needs to win big fights to prove it isn't just hype, and to fulfil his promise/talent. Sparring men at 15 years old is mind-boggling, but it isn't going to make him an ATG. I'm personally believing the hype, but he's not been knocked down to get up and win, he's not been tested in any big way.
We aren’t talking about him being a great or being tested in a big way. We’re talking about whether he’d beat Whyte. You’re yabbering on about something totally different.
You do realise people on here like you are genuinely comparing a prospect who beat a journeyman in McKean to an all time great in Usyk. Surely someone 'following' Whyte for long enough should know not to buy hype jobs.
Wardley isn't anywhere as hyped as Itauma and Wardley IMO has the far better win and has shown he can take a shot, and is resilient, and can last 10 rounds at least.
