    What's your take? I
know I know, the common answer would be "only some of a few friends from Oakland would be excited about this " lol meaning that Andre is not that marketable outside his hometown... But anyway, good for dre. Who the heck is Turki gonna put him in with??

Hey , on a side note what do y'all think about wlad possibly making a comeback as well? Discuss:

Unfortunately, if Turki starts funding retired fighters coming back for the money he is going to majorly dilute interest in the current fighters whom he is also funding. Be it Ward, Wlad or anyone else, this is a bad idea.

This is false. The news came from a parody account. Nobody is paying Ward 130 million to comeback. He is going to be 42 years old when he starts fighting again.

Thanks for clarifying, I found it hard to believe as well. That would be almost 45$ million bucks a fight... Like fogger said it would dilute the sport.

I think it's pretty obvious that the Saudis have a lot of money to spend! When my brother went there for a work trip he told me about a local trend in Saudi Arabia: the lower the number on your license plate means the richer you are! So knowing that, I have to wonder what is Turki alashiek's number?... Literally maybe a "0" lol, the lowest number than one! But that remains to be told as I can't confirm that, unfortunately.

Clearly fake, Ward was totally unmarketable even in his prime, the only thing he did better than fighting was find new ways to alienate boxing fans, whether it be by saying something stupid or simply disappearing for a year or more after having a good win, the man was totally unmarketable.

That much is true. Never really known for his marketable boxing skills, often dubbed as a young Bernard Hopkins, who's style was also boring at most times. Also how many times did he travel for fights? Meaning he mostly fought in his home backyard of cooking of places

If prime Ward was fighting in my backyard I’d close the drapes and call the police. Can’t imagine any promoter would offer him big money to come back. Must be fake news.

130 million is what HBO´s yearly budget for boxing used to be. Anyone with that money could monopolize the sport.
And it looks like the Saudi´s are going ahead with their league idea, so I doubt they will start bringing guys like Ward out of retirement.

Let´s be real, you wouldn´t even be bothered to call the police. You simply would not care enough.

Wow you ought to tell that to Scar who regularly jizzes all over himself when discussing Ward's imaginary super stardom

This would be an unwise business decision.

Hes the same age as Beterbiev. If Beterbiev works through younger contenders and Ward can do the Moore and Hopkins thing that could turn into a good fight to make. Imagine in a few years undefeated Beterbiev v Ward? All speculative though. It has the potential to turn into a good idea but probably won't.

How is it practical to bring him back? What could possibly be gained ?

130m is dream time stuff. They wouldn't recoup even a 1/4 of that back
